A1A is the most iconic road in Florida, traveling roughly 340 miles up the East Coast from Miami to Jacksonville. We created a Virtual Challenge to see how many miles you can do between July 5th and August 4th (31 days). You can run, walk, swim, bike, or skate your miles (or a combination of all of these). You can complete your miles anywhere in the world you would like, just upload them after each activity and your see your progress up A1A on our virtual map.
All registrants will receive a super soft Challenge T-Shirt and a Custom Challenge Medal (Shirts & Medals will be available in August).
Let's face it, it don't mean a thing if you don't get that bling! All registrants will receive an awesome A1A Challenge Medal. The medals are chrome bordered and white-glitter filled for a super-sparkly shine that will jump off your medal wall. The tropical neck ribbon will have A1A Challenge on one side and your distance on the other.
One medal not enough? We get it. That is why we are offering (for an additional charge) a 4 Medal option for those that want the 25, 50, 100, & 150 mile medals and the 8 Medal option for those that want them all. You must sign up for the 4 Medal pack or 8 Medal pack at registration. We cannot add them on later.
NOTE: YOU WILL GET THE MEDAL FOR THE DISTANCE YOU SIGN UP FOR AT REGISTRATION. EVEN IF YOU DECIDE TO GO FURTHER IN THE CHALLENGE, WE CANNOT CHANGE MEDALS.
All registrants receive a super soft tri-blend t-shirt. We have Men's and Women's specific sizing available.
A portion of the race proceeds go to charity. We decided to give registrants the option to choose between local organizations whose races were cancelled this year due to Covid-19. When you register, you will have the choice of the following organizations:
- IRC Habitat for Humanity https://www.irchabitat.org
- United Against Poverty - St. Lucie https://upslc.org/
- IRC Lawyers Auxiliary http://indianriverbar.org/lawyersauxiliary
- The Buggy Bunch https://www.thebuggybunch.com/
- Substance Awareness Center of IRC https://www.sacirc.org/
Part of the fun of this Virtual Challenge is being able to track your progress on our Virtual Course Map. Every time you upload an activity, your progress will be updated on the map and you can see how many miles you've completed and where you would be in on A1A. It makes it a fun game and helps keep you motivated.
Share this Challenge with your friends, family, and co-workers and get them to join you. We have set up referral rewards that will refund you each time you get someone to signup using your referral code. When you complete your registration, you will receive a link to send your friends and family and a code to use on Facebook and Twitter. For every person that signs up using the link or code, you will get the following refund:
3 additional people: $10
5 additional people $20
7 additional people $30
