The Annual Bill Bone 5K is an Evening Race this year on Sunday July 4th starting at 6:30pm. The Race raises money for the Wounded Veterans Relief Fund and is known as a “Run to the Fun” because the chip timed course is the first ever point to point race that starts at Osprey Park located at 5026 N. Flagler Drive near the FP&L Manatee Lagoon and ends Downtown on Banyan Street at the Waterfront in West Palm Beach.
After the race, runners and friends are in the best spot to stay and participate in the 4th on Flagler Celebration by taking advantage of special food and beer truck vendors and nearby restaurants selling traditional holiday food and drinks. There is also free entertainment culminating with an epic display of fireworks and music over the Intracoastal Waterway starting at 9pm.
Every registered runner receives a super fine moisture-wicking microfiber Tank Top, a custom-made finisher medal, and a chance to win your choice of some really cool raffle prizes. Awards are offered for Male & Female age-groups in 5-year increments to 80+ with special recognition for top fundraisers.
A portion of every registration benefits the Wounded Veteran’s Relief Fund, a platinum ranked charity on GuideStar, headquartered in Palm Beach County, that provides direct services to qualified veterans. Registered participants can choose to run, walk, or stroll the course knowing that every penny donated to the Wounded Veteran’s Relief Fund goes directly to the charity. Total donations made through the registration portal up to $5,000 will be matched by Bill Bone.
Runners are encouraged to pick up their packet and timing chip bibs on Friday afternoon, July 2nd at the law office of Larmoyeux & Bone, 550 S. Quadrille Blvd. West Palm Beach, FL 33401. Family and friends can drop runners at the start on Sunday evening and then drive downtown to West Palm Beach where parking is available at all city lots which are open on Sunday to accommodate the 4th on Flagler Celebration.
In addition, there is ample parking and clean restrooms at FP&L’s Manatee Lagoon, located at 6000 N. Flagler Drive, approximately one-half mile from the start line at Osprey Park. Transportation back to Manatee Lagoon is not provided, so please plan to make your own arrangements to return and pick up your vehicle after the race. The parking lot closes at 10:30pm.
