Description
Let's get together and run! Well, that won't work! Let's not get together but still run!
We are Race Day Professionals and we are an event management and timing company based in San Sebastian right here on the North Side of Weston! Since we are unable to host and time full scale events right now, we want to keep doing what we love and offer our neighbors the opportunity to take part in a free event. There are some rules though. You must practice proper social distancing rules and mind any and all traffic rules. In other words, be smart about this. There are essentially two options on how to participate:
Option 1: You can choose to run a timed event (complete with a bib and timing chip). There are three course options; a 1.5 mile course, a 5K (3.1 Mile) course, and a 10K (6.2 Mile) course. Each of these start and finish near the north corner of Estancia Circle and Coronado Road. You will be required to self-assign your bib and follow all social distancing rules. This is going to be a "rolling start". That means you can start your event at any point on race day (Between 7am and 4:30pm). This will allow you to start when you want and avoid any gatherings that would normally happen at a planned, timed start.
Option 2: You can choose to run a virtual event. But wait...this gets good. You can run a 'normal' virtual event and run wherever you want pretty much whenever you want. Or, you can run on a predetermined course and sign up to have your progress tracked and mapped so that friends and family from anywhere around the world can send you virtual cheers and monitor your progress. These courses use a technology called RaceJoy. It is a free app you put on your phone and it is a lot of fun.
With several options to choose from, and they are all free, why not?
Special note: This event is about having fun and staying healthy. While we love a competitive spirit, this is intended to be lighthearted. The courses will not be marked, but we will have maps for the chip timed events visible when you get your bib. Better still, use RaceJoy and have the map on your phone while you run!

CENTERS FOR DISEASE CONTROL (CDC) GUIDELINES RELATED TO THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC
We ask that all registrants certify that they will comply with the current CDC Guidelines and other directives from local, state and federal officials regarding participating in any events. Our strong advice is to exercise alone or with people you are already in close contact with regularly. It is important to do all we can to help slow and stop the spread of this virus. Be safe and do your part.
Here are some suggestions on how to be safe and still stay healthy:
Exercise alone. There will be plenty of opportunities to exercise in groups in the future. If you do exercise with a partner maintain 6 feet or more distance at all times (or whatever the current recommendation may be).
Be smart about where you exercise and when you exercise. Avoid the temptation to go to a busy park to exercise. Consider changing up where and when you do whatever workout you plan.
If you run / walk, consider alternate routes. It is fun to switch things up. Be mindful and exercise in a safe area with wide paths, roadway or trails. If other people are present, make sure you are respectful and give them space or cover up as you go by.
As always, be aware of your surroundings.
Working out at home is a great idea as well. There are many apps and programs designed around getting a great workout done at home and with minimal (if ay) equipment necessary.
In short, let's be smart and stay healthy so that we can all get together again at the next starting line; whenever and wherever it may be.
