Here are the important things upfront:

Friday:

1. Packet Pick up is from 4-7PM located at Heckler Brewing Company. There are no pets allowed in Heckler 5780 Ramsey Street, Fayetteville, NC 28311 Stay awhile and hang out!

Saturday:

1. MAKE SURE YOU ENTER FROM RAMSEY STREET!! See map below.

2. Schedule: Park opens at 7AM. Parking will be handled by the park rangers. Follow all directions from them.

7:05 AM - Packet Pick Up Opens No Race Day registration!

7:45 AM - Packet Pick Up Closes

8:00 AM - 11K and 6K Start - Canine Shortly after

9:00ish AM 6k Overall awards

9:15ish AM 11k Overall awards

Come and hang out at Heckler after the race for some tasty food and celebrate with a beverage.

 

Now for the rest of the important stuff:

At Packet Pick up you will get a special surprise koozie and your shirt as long as you ordered one in time. We have run out of some sizes. No exchanges until after the race. If available, you can potentially swap for a different available size.

 

There will be porta pottys and park bathrooms. Please do not throw trash in them.

 

Only overall 3 Male and Female awards for each distance. No age group awards. We will post the results with age groups for bragging rights. Results will be posted on Run sign up after the race. 

 

There will be water at the turn for the 6k. This will be at mile 2.5 and the 11k runners will pass it again at mile 5.1. We will have more water and you can trick or treat with some Halloween snacks.

 

Course. This is a trail race. There are some roots along with some sand and the trail in most areas can fit about two to three runners wide. Pay attention to your footing! There’s really only one hill that you have to go up, but at least it’s near the end.

Stay to the right and pass on the left. Announce “on your left” to pass and notify the other runner. There will be two-way traffic on this course. Make sure to be courteous and say hi and offer some encouraging words.

 

Course markings. There will be directional arrows at each turn. The 6k route will turn at the water station where the volunteers are. The 11k route will continue to run the Fox Squirrel loop and then return back the same way until the finish line.

 

For those with DOGS. No retractable leashes. Please make sure that you stay out of the way of other runners as the leash can be a tripping hazard. You are chip timed so you can start at the back to make sure that we don't cause issues. A separate email will go out to the runners that have registered their dogs to race.

 

At the end of the day, We're proud to offer a nice trail race in the Fayetteville area in Carvers Creek State Park. We hope you have a great time and come back next year.
