What is included in my registration?
In addition to your collectible technical race t-shirt, you’ll receive a race bib with a timing chip, an invitation to the post-race party and two drink tickets to exchange for beverages provided by Cambridge Brewing Company!
Is the Fall Classic 5K open to all ages?
Yes! We have no age restriction on registration. If your young ones are comfortable with the 3.1 miles, sign them up to run along with you!
How do I know if I am registered?
After completing your registration, you will receive a confirmation email from RunSignUp.com. You can also search for your registration on our Find A Participant page.
Can I transfer my race number to another person?
Yes! You can transfer your bib to another person up until packet pick-up hours are over. The person you are transferring the bib to will only have to pay a small $20 transfer fee. Find out how here.
Can I transfer from the in-person race to the virtual race?
Yes! You can transfer your registration from the in-person race to the virtual race or vice versa. Find out how here. The deadline to transfer to the virtual 5K is Friday, October 4th @ 11:59PM.
Can I run with my dog?
For the safety of all runners, we do not allow animals on the race course (however, they are welcome at the party!).
Can I run with a stroller?
Yes! We are happy to have you & your little one join us on the race course, but in the interest of safety for all participants, including your child, you will be asked to line up at the back.
Are headphones permitted?
You may wear headphones. We ask that you keep the volume at a reasonable level for your own safety and out of courtesy for fellow participants.
Is there a course time limit?
Yes. Our time limits are set to ensure runners are protected from traffic and have the support they need to finish. The 5K has a one-hour time limit. Athletes of all abilities are invited to participate, provided they can finish the course within the time frame.
Can I change the size of the shirt I ordered?
Yes, you can change your swag size until 9/22/24. Here's how.
How do I get my bib and swag?
You must attend bib pickup during the time frames and location communicated in the bib number email you will receive on the Monday of race week. Bib pickup will be available at the times listed below:
Saturday, October 5th from 12:00PM to 3:00PM @ LaFabrica Restaurant (enter via Green Street)
Sunday, October 6th from 8:00AM to 9:30AM @ 64 Sidney Street, Cambridge, MA
We strongly suggest you pick up your gear on Saturday to avoid the lines on race day.
Can someone pick up my bib for me?
Yes. They will need to know your bib number.
Can you mail my race swag?
All race items must be picked up during bib pick-up hours before the race. Swag will not be mailed unless you are registered for the Virtual 5K race.
I signed up for the 2024 Season Pass. When do I get my hoodie?
If you did not pick up your pullover at the Spring Classic 5K or the Summer Classic 5K, you can do so at the Fall Classic 5K bib pick up on Saturday, 10/5/24 or Sunday, 10/6/24. You will receive an email the week of the race reminding you to pick up your hoodie.
Is there a bag check?
There is a bag check near the finish line. You can drop your bag in the fenced-off area before you proceed to the start line. No tickets are given for the baggage claim and it will operate under the honor system. Do not leave valuables behind. All bags are subject to search by the City of Cambridge Police. Please remember to pick up your bag immediately after you finish running. Bag check closes at 10:30AM.
Is the race timed?
The Fall Classic 5K is timed utilizing Mylaps BibTag technology. Timing chips are on the back of the race numbers. You will get them at packet pick up. Results will be calculated based on net time.
Will there be portable toilets available?
Portable toilets will be available in the starting area of the race throughout the event.
What is your bad weather policy?
It is our goal to ensure a safe event for all involved. We will not expose participants or the community to undue risk as a result of staging the event. The Fall Classic 5K will take place rain or shine. However, when weather or other physical conditions present a danger to participants, we maintain the right to cancel the race. Less threatening conditions could result in an alteration of the course or race length to ensure safety for all. We highly recommend you purchase the race insurance at checkout.
Do you allow refunds?
All entries are final. There will be no refunds or deferrals.
Can I create or join a team after I have registered?
You can create or join a team until the team deadline on September 29th at 11:59PM. Here are the steps you can follow to make the change.

Is the race accessible by public transportation?
Yes, take the MBTA Red Line to Central Square.
How do I volunteer?
Volunteer registration will open after Labor Day. You can register to volunteer by using the VOLUNTEER tab. Registration closes on Thursday, October 3, 2024.
Where should I park on race day?
There is plenty of on-street parking in areas surrounding the start of the race. Please get to the event early if you plan to park. There is also plenty of parking available at the Green Street Garage and the Franklin Street Garage.
Is the course USATF certified?
Yes.
Is there a water stop along the route?
There will be a water stop at Henry Street at approximately the halfway mark. Bottled water is also available at the finish line.
I signed up for the Virtual 5K. Where's the information about what I should do next?
Amazing! You will be running from anywhere -- home or work, perhaps in a different state or country. All the information regarding how to upload your results, what kind of proof you need, when you will get your swag, etc. will be sent in an email the Tuesday before the in-person race. You will also get reminders to submit your time before the deadline, Sunday, October 13.
