Fri December 31, 2021 Wright City, MO 63390 US

Safety Measures

Pre-Race / At the Race Site

Pre-Race Packet Pick Up
Masks will be required for all participants and staff at packet pick up.

Race Day Packet Pick Up
While we encourage pre-race packet pick up to avoid gathering, race day packet pick up will be available at the race site, set apart from the start line area. Masks are required by all - participants and staff - in this area.

Masks
Participants are required to wear a mask before and after their race, but will not be required to wear the mask while running in the race.  All staff and volunteers are required to wear a mask while working at the event.

Start Line Waves & Procedures

This event will have staggered start time waves every 10 minutes. Participants will be placed in waves based on their selected race distance and estimated pace per mile.  We will be alternating waves by distance to keep the finish line from becoming congested - for example, at 7:00am, a wave of 15K runners will start, and at 7:10am, a wave of 10K runners will start, and at 7:15am, a wave of 5K runners will start. In the assigned 10-minute wave time, runners may start at any time during that 10 minutes.

** Wave assignments will be emailed to participants at the beginning of race week.**

Start and Finish Site Guidelines

Runners only will be allowed into the start site area and only 20 minutes prior to the start of their wave. All participants, volunteers and spectators are required to wear a mask at the site area.

At the finish site, runners will be required to put their mask back on after completing the race. All staff and volunteers are required to wear masks in this area. Runners will be asked to continue walking through the finish chute after receiving their post-race bag of water bottle, snacks and medal.  No waiting or standing will be allowed in the finish line area.

Restrooms

Portable restrooms will be stationed in an area of the start/finish site apart from the rest of the site to avoid crowding.  Hand sanitizer will be available, as will sinks with water/soap dispensers. Restrooms will be set apart from each other to allow for physical distancing.

On the Race Course

Masks

Participants are required to wear a mask before and after their race, but will not be required to wear the mask while running in the race.  All staff and volunteers are required to wear a mask while working at the event.

Course Etiquette

This course utilizes the trails and paths of Cedar Lake Cellars.  Most parts of these trails are 10ft wide, the width of a country road. This will allow for plenty of space while passing other runners.  Please respect runners around you and give space when passing, and only pass when safe.  Also, if you are running with a friend or family member (that you have chosen to be physically close to) please respect that running 2 or 3 side by side will make it difficult for others to pass you.  Consider running in single file, or switch to single file when another runner comes to pass you from behind.  Good running etiquette is *always* important - right now, it is IMPERATIVE.

Restrooms

Along the trail, restrooms will be available near water stations, and will also have hand sanitizer available.

Water Stations

On-course water stations will be available, but not as frequently as a typical race course allows.  We highly encourage runners to bring a handheld bottle or other carrier to supplement on-course stations. Water stations will utilize small bottled water, and bottles will be spaced 1-foot apart so that each runner can take their own bottle.  Volunteers in gloves will place bottles on the table, but will not be allowed to hand runners the bottles.

As a reminder to all participants: this course is on private property through beautiful countryside. Let's make sure to leave it as beautiful as we found it. Trash cans will be available after each station - please use them!
