QUESTIONS & ANSWERS

Question: Are there any time limits set for any of the events?
  • Answer: YES, all events involving a bike ride/race  -  All bikes must be off the roadway by 9:00 am. The Sheriff will open the Park Entrance to the general public. For your safety, we will have you place your bike into our sag vehicle if you have not completed the bike course by that time, and we will take you back to the Finish Line.
  • For all events, you have 3 hours to cross the Finish Line.
Question: Who can pick up my packet during the 2-day pre-race packet pick-up at PLAYTRI in St. Petersburg if I have to work?
  • Answer: Anyone you want. Just text them a picture of your ID or driver's license. When they pick up your packet, we will note the ID of the person picking it up, as well as take a picture of the ID/driver's license presented by your friend or relative.
Question: Where can I park, and is there a cost associated with it?
  • Answer: Upon arrival, you will be greeted by signs and parking attendants wearing bright vests, who will guide you in.
  • It costs $5.00 to Park for all day, and you have three (3) convenient ways to pay:
    • Upload the parking application on your phone or computer & prepay the night before the race anytime after 8:00 PM. You will receive a confirmation on your phone.
    • Upload the parking application on your phone and pay for parking after you arrive and park on the day of the race.
    • Go to one of the on-site "Parking Kiosks" to pay by using a credit card. There is usually a line, and you will need to provide your license plate number to complete the payment.
  • OPINION: If you plan to use the Parking App on your phone, upload it the night before or, if you already have the app, pay for your parking the night before the event so you can simply drive in, relax, and prepare for your event. No waiting in line!
Question: Is there a "Lost & Found?"
  • Answer: Absolutely. Check with the Registration table, and after the event starts, check with the announcer.
  • Note: The announcer will always make an announcement to the crowd if you misplaced anything, just let them know.
  • When anything is found and turned in, the announcer will let everyone know several times during the event.
Question: Is there a Post-Party Celebration?
  • Participants, get ready to enjoy a fun post-race party featuring free food, beer, and a variety of snacks and drinks. Your family and friends are welcome to join you, EVEN if they did not race. We will have a variety of food, drinks, and snacks available.
    • Seriously! If your wife, husband, son, daughter, or just a good friend came out to support you, bring them in to enjoy the festivities, free food, drinks, and snacks as well!
    • It's not a complete celebration without your family & friends that came out to cheer you on and be there at the end when you cross the "Finish Line."
Question: Can I run in any of the events with my dog?
  • Answer: Not this time, due to the numerous events and large crowds; safety is a top priority.

FAQS/QUESTIONS

Race Times Sunday 5/3/2025 - Various event start times. 7:00 am Start - If it is still slightly dark, we will give it a few minutes for safety reasons.

  • What time does the park open? The Sheriff will open the entrance gate at 5:30 am.
  • Is "Double-dipping" allowed with awards? NO.
  • What is Double Dipping? This means that if you win the Masters, you will be removed from the age category awards. This is nice because it allows more people to win awards, and everybody likes to stand on the podium, right?
  • Are Bib transfers (to another athlete) allowed? NO,
  • Entry fees are not refundable because we have bibs printed in advance, hire the Sheriff's Department for road closures, and hire two ambulances, among other expenses.
  • Deferrals are available up to 30 days before the event, with a $20.00 transfer fee, but there are always exceptions to the rule. We purchase everything in advance to match the participants. I just wanted to share that with you.
  • You must be at least 8 years old to participate in the 5K or 10K event.
  • You must be in good health and physically prepared to participate in 5K, 10K, or any of the multi-event options.
  • You must show a photo ID and email confirmation to receive your race number and timing chip. You may pick up another person's race packet by showing a copy of the person's driver's license.
  • No coaches, bikes, in-line skates, skateboards, or dogs will be allowed on the course.
  • Course Time Limits: The bike course will be cleared at 9:00 am, with no exceptions, because that is when the sheriff opens the park gates, and people will drive in, which would make it unsafe for the bike riders. We don't want to remove you from the course, so pedal your butt off if you are falling behind. We will make every effort to let you finish.
  • The moment the last bike rider exits the bike corral, a general announcement will be made, immediately informing athletes that they may enter the bike corral and secure their bikes.
  • Finish Line Racing Events/Thunder Bolt Multi Sports reserves the right to remove an athlete from the course and declare them DNF if our course staff determines that there is no possibility of the athlete completing within the course time limits, based on their location, time, and average speed up to that point.
  • Any athlete who cuts the course, intentionally or unintentionally, must report this to personnel at the race results tent so corrections/adjustments can be made to ensure the correct athletes receive credit for their times.
    • ATTENTION: It's okay if you decide not to finish an event/race, but please don't walk across the finish line. But if you do cross the finish line to receive your medal, just PLEASE let the timer know that you did not complete the entire course. It can mess up results. COLLECT YOUR MEDAL BUT always walk over to the timer immediately and tell someone at the timing tent that you did not complete the entire course.
  • If you sell, give away, or run under someone else's bib outside of our approved transfer/deferral system, we reserve the right to remove you from the results and potentially ban you. Please know that these rules are in place for the safety of all other participants. In addition, we take cheating very seriously and want everyone to have a great day and experience.
  • If you compete under USAT rules, your results are based on your age for that year, not on your birthday. So, if you compete at any time during a 12-month calendar year, the age you are at in that year will be the age you compete at, regardless of whether the event takes place before or after your actual birth date.
  • Lifetime Discount: If you sign up using a first-responder code, we will follow up with an email requesting your Military ID card, your Branch of Service, and your years of service. The same information will be requested if you are or were a Firefighter or Police Officer. Once we add you to the system, you will remain there for life, and the 20% discount will be available to you at all times. Only 1 code may be used per participant.
    • We generate a weekly RunSignUp.com report that lists all participants, including their names, the date, and discount code information.
    • We have been working very closely with RunSignUp, and these multiple discounts have NEVER been done before. We are thrilled to be the first company to offer these numerous discounts. Please help us keep it going!
