Welcome to the inaugural team Police and Fire Services Guns and Hoses Summer Run Challenge!!
What better way to meet, learn, and share as people and community members than on a Run!!! And of course running loves competition - particularly when racing provides a Challenge award to the local non-profit of the winning team's choice!! With a kick-off season of two teams defined by service affiliation, two aspects of competition will be tracked and celebrated in the 2025 Flagstaff Run Series races Challenge.
Here’s how it works ….
The Flagstaff Run Series is comprised of 5 races. For one low entry cost, a Challenge registrant completes one online entry and is then automatically registered into the 5 respective races. Each Series race offers multiple distances making it possible for everyone to find an event that suits their style. The Challenge competition is layered on to the Series and works like this …
Challenge team members begin with any connection to the Firemen/women or Policemen/women serving the Flagstaff community. Team members can then be anyone who wants to support this community outreach! Think like -- provider, friends, spouse, children, mom, grandpa, nephew, cousin – and so forth. A Bigger team is Better – no requirements except a desire to foster community connections.
At each Flagstaff Run Series race two criteria will used to set Challenge Winners in each.
** Participation - The total number of Challenge Runners by team who complete any distance event in a Series Race will be tallied for a participation total – highest team participation is the winner!!
** Performance – For the “Long” course event in each Series race, the overall finish place number of the top 5 finishing Challenge Runners by team will be added together for a team rank – lowest team value is the winner!!

Team members must be Series registered by the June 15 end-date for all 2025 Series entries in order to be included in the Challenge scoring, but all 5 races remain open to individual event entries up to each race day.
After completing the basic bio information, respond to three specific questions beginning with
“Which service provider team do you want to run for?”
“Are you a Police or Fire Service provider?”
“Do you want to share the name of a special service provider who motivates you?”
And that’s it!!
The Run Series, Run Flagstaff, Police and Fire admin teams will do the rest of the Challenge work. You get a great value in a 5-race entry package with each race’s swag and fun, and the opportunity to show your colors and show your support for the amazing service providers in our community.
**** ALL ages of family member are encouraged to become Challenge team members. Know that the Kids Fun Run events are not electronically timed so a manual logging of all Challenge-Series Kids Run participants will be made onsite at each respective race to count those runners in the Participation portion of the Challenge scoring.
