My run course - start and finished altered slightly!

We’re Excited to Launch the First F5 Half Marathon!

We can’t wait to welcome you to Hays Farm for the inaugural F5 Half Marathon & 5K! The course is flat, fast and scenic, with much of the Half Marathon running along the beautiful Tennessee River Greenway.

Here’s what you need to know:

THE START 8:00 AM BOTH RACES

Both races will start on Haysland Drive.

You’ll run on Haysland Drive for just under ½ mile. Once you pass Grissom, you’ll veer left and enter the Hays Farm Greenway.

Stay straight on the paved path—you will NOT go around the gravel pond.

5K & FIRST AID STATION

The Half Marathon and 5K will follow the same route at the beginning.

At approximately mile 1.5, you’ll reach Aid Station #1, sponsored by Fifth Third Bank. This will also be the 5K turnaround.

5K runners will turn around here and head back toward Hays Farm Park.

Half Marathon runners—keep going!

HEADING TO THE TENNESSEE RIVER

At approximately mile 2.5, Half Marathon runners will cross Redstone Road and enter the Tennessee River Greenway.

This is a beautiful section of the course with plenty of shade and a smooth running surface.

At approximately mile 4.25, you’ll reach another aid station near the Green Cove crossing, sponsored by Fleet Feet.

Keep going—you’re headed toward Ditto Landing!

THE DIRT SECTION

Around mile 5, the course transitions to a dirt-road-style section.

Don’t worry! It is smooth, packed and very runnable.

DITTO LANDING TURNAROUND

Just past mile 6, the path will end.

You’ll make a right turn, cross the old bridge and enter Ditto Landing.

There will be an aid station at the turnaround, sponsored by Fleet Feet, with GU available for Half Marathon runners.

This is your Half Marathon turnaround. From here, you’ll turn around and retrace the course back toward Hays Farm.

AID STATIONS

There will be aid stations throughout the course to keep you hydrated and fueled.

Aid Stations #1 and #5 are sponsored by Fifth Third Bank.
All other aid stations are sponsored by Fleet Feet.
GU will be available at the Half Marathon turnaround.

HEADING TO THE FINISH

This is important for BOTH the Half Marathon and 5K:

When you exit the greenway on your return, you will NOT get back onto Haysland Drive.

Instead, you’ll stay on the sidewalk, make a right onto R.W. Street, and then make a quick left back into Hays Farm Park.

From there, head straight for the finish!

THE FINISH!

The finish line for both races will be located under the big pavilion at Hays Farm Park.

Look for:

🙌 And our fabulous volunteers!

The course will be well marked, so follow the signs, listen to our volunteers and enjoy the run.

We are so excited to bring the F5 Half Marathon to Huntsville for the first time. Get ready for a fun, fast course and a great morning at Hays Farm!
