Description

Step up with The Task Force for Global Health to eliminate diseases and protect the health of all populations.

Based in Decatur, GA, and working in more than 150 countries, we believe all people should have equitable access to the services that lead to healthier lives, and we know from experience that health for all is unattainable without equity for all.

This is why we are partnering with Black Lives Matter and Clarkston Community Health Center on a virtual run/walk to help fight two pandemics facing the world today – racial inequity and COVID-19.

From Saturday, August 1st to Wednesday, August 19th, World Humanitarian Day, each mile you run or walk can contribute to health and racial equity. Set a goal, lace up your shoes, invite friends and family to support you or participate themselves, and start moving!

All donations will go towards either Black Lives Matter’s work for freedom and justice for all Black people, or Clarkston Community Health Center’s services for COVID-19 treatment for uninsured and underserved communities in Atlanta. You can choose to support either or both or just walk/run for fun! You are not required to donate or solicit support in order to participate.

Our core values of Global Health Equity, Social Justice, Collaboration and Compassion drive our commitment to ensuring that all people can realize their right to living a healthy life.

About Steps to Protect

Steps to Protect is a free virtual run/walk for all participants.

Our goal is to engage our constituents and our community to raise awareness of and support for health equity and social justice. You may choose to donate to our selected charities but are not required to in order to participate. You can even become a Fundraiser and raise donations for our charity partners!

Enter your progress every day, watch your colleagues' progress, and cheer each other on!

While we have set a collective goal of 1,000 miles, we encourage our participants to set a distance goal of their choice that they can comfortably complete in the race time frame from August 1st to August 19th. No goal is too small and no distance is too short.

Please know that this is a virtual event that can be done on your own time safely while social distancing and following all state and government rules and regulations.
