Description
The Friends of the ACC Library is an all-volunteer 501(c)3 non-profit organization with the mission to support the Athens-Clarke County Library and its services. Think of us as the ultimate booster club!
Whether you walk or run, come join us for a great time at Sandy Creek Park for this family friendly event.
Proceeds from the race help to support a wide range of programs and services at the library.
Participants are encouraged to dress up as their favorite book character!

Course
The Fun Run starts at the Starting line on the circle, runs 3/4 of a loop around the circle and finishes on the beach access road at the 5K Finish Line.
The 5K course runs completely inside of the park on paved surfaces.
T-Shirts
New this year! Long sleeve T-shirts! T-shirts are guaranteed for all runners who register by January 30, 2026. After that date, shirts will be available while supplies last.
Awards
5K Awards are given to Overall Male / Female, Masters Male/Female and the following Male / Female Age Groups:
First Place in 5-year age groups: 10 and Under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 and Over
Fun Run participants will receive a participation surprise.`
Make sure to visit the Results table and receive a sticker that will give you how you placed in your age group along with complete race statistics.
Virtual Option
Run your 3.1 miles anywhere. Submit your finish time by clicking on the RESULTS tab at the top of this page. Submit finish times no later than 12 noon on February 22. To submit a virtual time you must be registered as a virtual runner.
Virtual runners are not eligible for t-shirts or race day awards.

What if it Rains?
We get wet! Race start time may be delayed in 15-minute increments if storms are in the area. Sorry, no refunds due to inclement weather.
