Event Description
Lace up your shoes and join for our Inaugural Faith over Fear 5K to support local individuals and families affected by cancer. Proceeds from this event benefit the East Georgia Cancer Coalition (EGCC), an Athens-based nonprofit dedicated to providing free cancer prevention education, support services, wellness programs, and care packages for individuals in active treatment. Best of all, every dollar raised stays right here in Georgia, making a meaningful difference in the communities we call home.

Course
The 5K starts on the Oconee Greenway adjacent to the Nature Center. Runs to College Avenue, turns around and comes back. The entire course is on the Greenway. This is a beautiful run along the Oconee River and a great course to walk or run for all ages.

Awards
Awards will be given to Overall Male and Female and to the 1st 3 finishers in the following 10-year age groups:
10 and Under, 11-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79, 80 and Over
T-Shirts
Register by October 12, 2026 to be guaranteed a short sleeve t-shirt. After that date shirts will be available on a first come first served basis.
Race Series and Finishline Management
The Faith Over Fear 5K is proud to be a member of the Black Bag Race Series.
Finish line management and timing provided by Classic Race Services.
What if it rains?
We get wet! Race start time may be delayed in 15-minute increments if storms are in the area. Sorry, no refunds due to inclement weather.
