Description
Come join us for the 15th Annual Clarke Middle School Owl Flight 5K sponsored by the CMS PTA. All proceeds go to supporting the on-going PTA activities at Clarke Middle School.
Registration Information
Due to the closure of Clarke County schools and the cancellation of all extracurricular activities on Friday, September 27, because of the impending severe weather, no activities will take place over the weekend including the Owl Flight 5K. For any questions, please contact cmsowlflight@gmail.com.
Clarke County School District students are FREE!
Family Registration is available for $35.00 until 9/14/24. NO FAMILY RATE AFTER 9/14/24.
Individual Registration $20.00.

School Access and Parking
There is still MAJOR construction going on at Clarke Middle School. Please access the school property off of Alps Road beside Alps Road Elementary School, now named Bettye Henderson Holston Elementary. (This was one of two Black teachers joining the faculties of white schools in 1966, after the landmark 1954 Supreme Court decision of Brown vs. Board of Education that desegregated public schools was finally put into practice.)
There is not a good version of a map showing the new parking and school build configuration. Below is the best I could do!
Park in the main parking lot and follow the blue paved road to the back side of the school building. You will find Registration / Start / Finish / Awards here.
There is VERY LIMITED parking in the lot behind the school off of Dudley Street. PLEASE park in the main parking lot with access off of Alps Road.
Course
The Owl Flight 5K starts and finishes in the Clarke Middle School BACK Parking Lot (off of Dudley Street). The course runs through the 5-points neighborhood, which is quite hilly!
Awards
Awards are given to Overall Male / Female, Masters Male/Female and the following
Top 3 Male and Female 6th, 7th and 8th grade Clarke Middle School students
Top 3 Male and Female in Standard 10-year age groups starting at 10 and under and going through 80 and over.
Race Series and Finishline Management
The Owl Flight 5K is proud to be a member of the Black Bag Race Series.
Finishline management and timing provided by Classic Race Services.
What if it Rains?
We get wet! Race start time may be delayed in 15-minute increments if storms are in the area. Sorry, no refunds due to inclement weather.
