The First Annual Wurst 5k

Race description 

The Wurst 5K is in partnership with the Freedom Parkway Park Conservancy. The Best and the Wurst opened earlier this year and wants to support and give back to their community, that means you! Please join us for a 5k around our beautiful neighborhood.

Race day registration is available on race morning for $45.00 from 7am to 7:45am.  Cash, check or credit card.  T-shirts are not guaranteed. 

Awards

Everyone is a winner at the Wurst, all participants over 21 will receive a beer! Participants under 21 will receive a non-alcoholic beverage of their choice. 

T-Shirts

Please let us know your shirt size! We are having a local artist design the shirts. They will be available to pick up race day at The Best and The Wurst.

Transportation

Unfortunately, we cannot support parking for the race. Please rideshare, carpool, or take public transportation. There is hourly parking available at Ponce City Market and at Kroger on Ponce. However, please be aware that we are not responsible for any damage or towing of vehicles. 

Weather

The race will happen rain or shine. Be prepared to run in any weather. Only in the cases of extreme weather will changes to the race schedule occur. Please check your email and The Best and The Wurst social media on race morning for real-time updates on the status of the race if there is severe weather.

REFUNDS

No refunds or transfers from person-to-person or year-to-year are allowed. While we understand schedules change and things come up, we have a strict no-refund and transfer policy. Race Management reserves the right to cancel or modify the event due to extreme conditions such as weather. Registration fees are not refundable in the event of the race cancellation due to “Acts of God" or things outside of the control of the Race Director.

Please pick-up your packet, with your t-shirt at race day

Water Stations

We will have one water station on the trail and The Best and The Wurst will also provide water.  

DOGS/STROLLERS

Strollers are allowed on the course and at the Start/Finish line. Dogs are not allowed. 

FIRST AID

In case of an emergency, please immediately notify one of the on-site medical volunteers, police officer, or a employee of The Best and The Wurst.

RESTROOMS

Restrooms are available in The Best and The Wurst

Proceeds from the race benefit the Freedom Parkway Conservancy.
