Description

Run or walk in Augusta’s most scenic race. Voted "Best 5K in Augusta"

3 Bridges 5K is a gorgeous run on the Augusta Canal National Heritage Area’s River Levee Trail. This scenic course is a paved out-and-back, crossing three bridges along the Savannah River and the Augusta canal, with start/finish at the Lake Olmstead Trailhead.

3 Bridges makes a cash donation to the Augusta Canal National Heritage Area to help maintain and improve trails. 

**COVID Changes**

  • During the registration process, you will be required to choose a corral time. Corrals will be every 15 minutes. 
  • We ask that you bring the QR code that you are emailed after registration to speed up packet pick up and keep it contact free. 
  • Packet pick up will be the morning of the race, and it will start 20 minutes prior to your chosen corral. 
  • We ask that you maintain 6' of social distancing in line to pick up your bib and in the corral waiting to start the race.
  • We request that you do not show up on site more than 20 minutes prior to your wave. 
  • No onsite registration will be available, but registration will remain open online until the last wave starts or until all waves sell out. 
  • Once athletes check in, they will line up in the start corral on an open marked spot.  
  • Each corral will be started in a time trial manner with a participant starting every 5 seconds.  
  • Please follow all national/state/local guidelines.  
  • Please note, due to COVID-19, we will NOT have water stations on the 5k course
  • The 10K will have one self serve cupless water stop near the pump station. Please bring a refillable container. 
  • Only packets for Virtual Runners will be mailed out.

Event Schedule and Details

Race Start Time: First wave of 5K & 10K - 8:45 AM.  All others will follow every 15 minutes based on the time selected during registration. 

T-SHIRTS

A Long Sleeved T-shirt is included in registration.  All registrants will receive the size they register for.  We will not be able to hold shirts after race day. We will not ship shirts unless you were a virtual registrant. 

AWARDS

Procedure for awards will be announced closer to the day of the race depending on the COVID situation. All awards will be based off of chip time this year.  Awards will be given in the 5K and 10K to the following groups:

Overall 1st, 2nd and 3rd place Male and Female (not eligible for Age Group awards)
Age groups (1st, 2nd and 3rd place) 13 and under, 14-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 and over.

TIMING

Chip Timed
Clock time (gun time) is the official time for determining 1st, 2nd and 3rd overall place awards.
Live on-site and online results.
Age group awards are based on one’s age on race day.
Age group awards are based on official net time.
All participants are assigned an electronic timing device prior to the event in their Participant Packet.
Participants must wear their assigned timing device continuously to receive an accurate finish time.

Strollers and leashed pets are NOT allowed on the course.

PACKET PICK-UP

Bibs will be handed out race day as you arrive, then you will immediately report to the start chute.  After you finish, you will be given the shirt size that you register for during registration. Size exchanges will not be possible this year. 

RACE DAY REGISTRATION

Day of race registration will not be open onsite, but you can registration online from a computer or mobile device until the last corral starts.   

Parking

Participant parking is available in the lot next to the start and across the street on the grass lot. Keep an eye out for our signs. Do not park in the Humane Society's lot.

Course Maps

The 5k and 10K will have a water stop and restroom (just before the second bridge) around the 1 and 1.6 mile marks.  The 10K will also have restrooms (at the Pump Station), water, and gatorade around the 3.7 and 5 mile marks.
