EVENT DESCRIPTION

Get ready for the 5th-Annual Downtown Cartersville 5K to benefit Backpack Buddies Program!!

The always-popular 1K Fun Run ('Lap-the-Courthouse') for the little ones, will finish under the banner like the big folks!  Let's DO this!!

This popular 5K will start & finish in historic Downtown Cartersville, with a scenic route that encircles downtown and its surrounding neighborhoods. This race promises to produce a good time for all, no matter your age!

As a USATF-CERTIFIED 5K COURSE (Certification #GA18034WC), it is a Peachtree Road Race Qualifier!  But even for those not doing Peachtree, you can be assured that the course is accurate and certified.

Please plan to hang around after the 5K for age group awards presentations, while enjoying sponsors' tents and treats and LIVE music!   This is an awesome way to start your weekend and support a worthy cause!

REGISTRATION INFO:

Pre-Race, on-line Registration will be open until 11:00pm, Sunday, August 22nd, 2021. (Be sure to pre-register in order to guarantee your T-shirt size!)

Race Day Registration will be near the start in the parking lot across from the Frank Moore Judicial Building at the northeast corner of W. Church St. and N. Bartow St. (Behind the Bartow County Purchasing Dept. building, located at 105 N. Bartow St.)  

    Please Note:

Race-Day Registration on race morning OPENS at 6:30am and CLOSES at 7:30am due to the size of the event!  Please arrive early. 

Race Day Registration Fee: $35 for 5K.......$25 for 1K Fun Run.

 

ALREADY PRE-REGISTERED?  Good!  PACKET PICK-UP...

Two options:

1. FRIDAY, AUG. 27th: If you have pre-registered, we highly-encourage you to pick up your race packet & t-shirt on Friday, August 27st from 10am--6pm at the Anytime Fitness in Cartersville (10 Slope Dr.) off N. Tennessee St., next to the AMC Movie Theater.  Saves time & stress on race morning.
2. SATURDAY, AUG. 28th: If unable to get your race packet & t-shirt ahead of time on Friday, you may pick it up on race morning beginning at 6:30am behind the Bartow County Indigent Care building, located at 105 N. Bartow St., in downtown Cartersville.  Arrive early...it gets crowded fast on race morning.

  

PARKING: 

Parking is available in the large parking lot* between The Bartow County Courthouse and Sam Jones Methodist Church, located at 135 West Cherokee Avenue in downtown Cartersville.  Additional parking is available in the Tabernacle Baptist Church Parking lot between Tabernacle Baptist Church and the Booth Museum of Western Art. Parking is also available in limited areas surrounding Downtown Cartersville. Please note there is NO PARKING available in and around Friendship Plaza on Race Day Morning.  (NOTE:  *The two lots mentioned are approximately one block from the downtown finish line location.)

 

5K COURSE:

The 5K is a USATF-CERTIFIED COURSE and a Peachtree Road Race Qualifier.  (Certification #GA18034WC)

Starting Line is located at the intersection(s) of Church Street and Bartow Street, facing East on Church St.
Finish Line is located inside Friendship Plaza off of Cherokee Ave.  Please note the separate locations of the Start line & Finish line. 
All 5K runners/5K wheelchair athletes must complete the attached wavier prior to race start.

The 1K Fun Run will make one loop, counter-clockwise, around the Courthouse Block before finishing at the common finish line, downtown inside Friendship Plaza by the train depot in front of the ROARING CROWD!!!

Overall Wheelchair M&F
Top 3 in each of the following Age Categories M&F:
10 & Under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & Over

 

PROFESSIONAL TIMING & RESULTS:

Professional, R.F.I.D. Chip-Timing will be provided by Wire2Wire Running, LLC, using MyLaps technology, the same equipment used for the Boston Marathon & Tour de France.
