Forsyth County Schools is not immune to the teacher and school counselor shortage facing our nation. We have found recent success “growing our own” by establishing teacher prep programs at all Forsyth County high schools, but face a large void when it comes to supporting the educational needs of current paraprofessionals (teacher assistants) who wish to advance to a teaching position and teachers who wish to advance to a school counselor role. Because of funds raised during the 2022 Dr. Jim and Peggie Morrow iChallenge, the Forsyth County Education Foundation gave out 16 staff scholarships to current paraprofessionals (teacher assistants) who wish to advance to a teaching position and teachers who wish to advance to a school counselor role!

Dr. Jim and Peggie Morrow began the iChallenge many years ago providing devices and hotspots to thousands of students, and Forsyth County Schools is very grateful for their work. In 2022, they moved their foundation to the Forsyth County Education Foundation, a fund of North Georgia Community Foundation.
The Forsyth County Education Foundation is committed to growing the Dr. Jim and Peggie Morrow iChallenge. Until 2022, the foundation focused on providing school grants with the Duck Dive for Education fundraiser, held each spring, but with the addition of the Dr. Jim and Peggie Morrow iChallenge, the foundation can expanded its reach to a new area of need – ensuring we have the best of the best teaching and supporting our students!
