Join us on Saturday, April 27th to kick off the 23rd Annual Mountain Ranger Run and Bike Races at Camp Frank D. Merrill. Choose your distance for the run with 7k and 15k options, or grab your mountain bike and hit the single track for 34k. New this year are RUCK options for the 7k and 15k. Stick around after the race and spend the day at the Ranger Camp watching demonstrations, repelling, and more! Open House is free of charge and open to the public.
All participants age 21 or over on race day may present their bib at The Overhang Club for one (1) free beer. Photo ID WILL BE REQUIRED.
This year The Overhang Club has offered meal ticked add-ons good for either two (2) beer or a meal plate which includes one (1) pulled pork sandwich, one (1) side (side options are nachos, cheese sticks, or jalapeno poppers), and one (1) beverage (Powerade, soda, or beer). *Any tickets purchased for an alcoholic beverage will require photo ID be presented at The Overhang Club.*
**Please note: all courses MUST be cleared by 10:45 for the Open House schedule of events. Anyone still on course at this time will be pulled.**
Packet pickup will be held the day before, Friday (4/26) at Dahlonega Mountain Sports on the square in Dahlonega. The address for Dahlonega Mountain Sports is 10 S. Chestatee Street, Suite E Dahlonega, GA 30533 and their phone number is 706-300-0959
Race day packet pickup will open at 6:00am.
***NO DOGS ALLOWED***
Race day registration will also open at 6:00am and will close 15 minutes prior to the start of each event.
The 15k course is a great loop, consisting of old forest service roads, rolling hills, and water crossings. New this year is some single track at the very end! The trail is not too technical, so it's a fast route!
The start/finish area will be at the same location, not as shown on the map. You will also NOT be running the entire track as shown on the course link.
**For the 15k HEAVY event, participants will be required to provide their own ruck, weighing between 25-45 pounds, which will be weighed at the finish line by the Rangers.**
This is the first time EVER the Army Rangers have opened the Montgomery Creek trail to the public for a race! This course is a blast to run and has an amazing waterfall along the route. You will not want to miss this one!
**For the 7k HEAVY event, participants will be required to provide their own ruck, weighing between 25-45 pounds, which will be weighed at the finish line by the Rangers.**
