Run From the Sun 5k Cancellation 2023
Hello Run From the Sun 5k participants! This is McKenna Croft, the race coordinator for 2023. I am sorry to inform you that we are closing registration for the race at this time due to lack of participants this year. The racing fee donations will still go to the Melanoma Research Foundation to support skin cancer research and I appreciate your continued dedication to the cause. We hope to have the race back up and going next year so be on the lookout for more information!

Once you park by Tiger stadium, go to the Selman Ave. and Selman Dr. intersection and turn left to get to the track. There will also be directional markers here for guidance.
Description
Run From the Sun 5k is a run and walk that raises awareness for melanoma (skin cancer). All funds from the race will be donated to the Melanoma Research Foundation to help find a cure for skin cancer which effects 9,500 people in the world every day. The creator of the race had her own experience with melanoma at age 15 and used her passion for running and her cancer survival story to establish the first Run from the Sun 5k in Douglasville, Georgia. The race is located at Douglas County High School (DCHS) and starts on the DCHS track. It is open to all ages, and we encourage all participants to wear black or orange for skin cancer awareness. There will be music, games, and lots of fun, so we hope to see you there to support a good cause!
