LATE RACE BAG AND TSHIRT PICKUP: Registered participants can pick up a tshirt on race day beginning at 7a on a first come, first serve basis. We will run out, so please plan to get there early. Any questions, please email dunwoodydash@gmail.com.
Austin Elementary invites you to the 20th annual Dunwoody Dash 5k and 1 Mile Fun Run on Saturday, October 21, 2023 from 8am to 11am.
Bring the entire family for post race fun including Dunwoody's favorite food trucks, music, inflatables and more!
All proceeds from the Dunwoody Dash support Austin Elementary School students, faculty and staff, and fund school enrichment programs.

VOLUNTEERS NEEDED The Dunwoody Dash is coordinated by parent volunteers. Multiple positions are needed in the days before the Dash plus during race day. All ages welcome! Email DunwoodyDash@gmail.com for more information.

RACE DAY EVENT INFORMATION
Key Times
Participants can arrive starting at 7:30am. The festival, inflatables, games, photo booth, and food trucks will all be open from 8:00-11:00am. The 5K will start at 8:00am at the traffic light at the front of the school, and the Fun Run / Walk will start at 8:30am in the same location. You may come and go at whatever time works for your schedule.
Parking
Austin’s entire campus will be pedestrian-only for the entire event, and both entrances to the school will be blocked off. Please either walk to the event or park nearby and walk into campus. Suggested parking locations include on Holly Bank Circle, on Dunwoody Knoll Drive, Wynterhall Swim & Tennis parking lot in Wyntercreek, or at Dunwoody Village. Please be courteous to our neighbors and do not block driveways. Parking may be challenging, so please allow extra time to get to the event.
DO NOT park at Wildcat Park, the old Austin site, as this year's fun run course will take us to that area for nostalgia!
Attire
Wear your 2023 Dunwoody Dash shirt and comfortable clothing to run and play. We suggest putting your name in your shirt and any outwear items so they don’t get lost.
Weather
The temperature should be in the 50s-lower 60s during the event.
5K ROUTE
The 5K (3.1 miles) will start at 8:00 am near the traffic light on Roberts Drive at the main entrance to the school. Please check out the route map below. The course will be well-marked and racers will be escorted by Police officers. There is also a water station on Mount Vernon Way near the 2-mile marker.

Fun Run / Walk ROUTE
The Fun Run / Walk route is approximately 1 mile and starts at the main entrance to the school. Parents and friends are welcome to participate along with the students, or you can help cheer on the runners and walkers along the course.

Food & Beverage Options
We have 3 terrific food and beverage options available for purchase at the event:
Chill Latte will be serving your favorite beverages including signature coffees, hot chocolate, smoothies, and more. They accept cards, cash, and mobile payments.
Chick-fil-A will be onsite selling chicken biscuits, orange juice, and water. Card-only payments are accepted.
Dunkin Donuts donuts and coffee will be available for sale at a table. Cash is preferred and Venmo is accepted.
Kona Ice Truck will be serving shaved ice treats. All payments are accepted.

Restrooms
The school will be closed during the event, but restrooms are available at a multi-stall portable trailer in the bus lane behind the gym, or at the Dunwoody Nature Center.
Help During the Event
Volunteers and Event Staff will be in bright yellow t-shirts during the event. Please find a volunteer if you need any help or have questions. Minor First Aid is available at the Info and Tshirt Sales booth near the Finish Line.

Can I still sign up? Yes, Register Now! T-shirts are first come, first serve, and not guaranteed at this point.
Do I need to check in upon arrival? No, just listen for the announcements about the events and show up by 8:00 am for the 5K and 8:30 am for the Fun Run / Walk.
If you still need to pick up your bag/bib/shirt, look for the table near the start line.
