Description
Austin Elementary invites you to the 21st annual Dunwoody Dash 5k and 1 Mile Fun Run on Saturday, November 2, 2024 from 8am to 11am.
Register before 10/11 to get a free t-shirt included with the registration fee
NEW IN 2024: The 5k will be chipped and timed on a certified course!
Bring the entire family for post race fun including Dunwoody's favorite food trucks, music, free inflatables, face painting and more! All proceeds from the Dunwoody Dash support Austin Elementary School students, faculty and staff, and fund school enrichment programs.

7:15am-7:45am in front of Austin Elementary (you must park off campus and walk to the front patio, no bags will distributed in carpool)
4pm-5:45pm in front of Austin Elementary (parking lot is open)
Thursday 10/31
7:15am-7:45am in front of Austin Elementary (you must park off campus and walk to the front patio, no bags distributed in carpool)
Race bag pick up is available on the morning of the event, but it is highly recommended to pick up on days listed above

RACE DAY EVENT INFORMATION
Key Times
Participants can arrive starting at 7:30am. The festival, inflatables, games, photo booth, and food trucks will all be open from 8am to 11am in the playground area. The 5K will start at 8am near the traffic light at the front of the school. The Fun Run / Walk will start at 8:10am in the same location. T-shirt/Bib pickup and late registration is located near the Starting Line from 7:30-7:50am.
Parking
Austin’s entire campus will be pedestrian-only for the entire event, and both entrances to the school will be closed. Please walk to the event or park nearby and walk into campus. Suggested parking locations include on Holly Bank Circle, Dunwoody Knoll Drive, Wynterhall Swim & Tennis parking lot in Wyntercreek, or at Dunwoody Village. Parking may be challenging, so please allow extra time to get to the event.
DO NOT park at Wildcat Park, the old Austin site, as this year's fun run course will take us to that area!
Attire
Wear your 2024 Dunwoody Dash shirt and comfortable clothing to run and play.

5K ROUTE
The 5K (3.1 miles) will start at 8:00 am near the Dunwoody Nature Center parking lot and the main entrance to the school. The course will be well-marked and racers will be escorted by Police officers. There is also a water station on Mount Vernon Way near the 2-mile marker. The Finish Line is in the bus lane.
Fun Run / Walk ROUTE
The Fun Run / Walk route is approximately 1 mile and starts at the same location as the 5K. Parents and friends are welcome to participate along with the students, or you can help cheer on the runners and walkers along the course. The Finish Line is in the bus lane.

We will have food and beverage options available for purchase at the event.

Restrooms
The school will be closed during the event, but restrooms are available at a multi-stall portable trailer in the bus lane behind the gym, or at the Dunwoody Nature Center.
Help During the Event
Volunteers and Event Staff will be in bright yellow t-shirts during the event. Please find a volunteer if you need any help or have questions. Minor First Aid is available near the Finish Line.
