Event Description
RIP: Run in Putnam is Putnam County's spookiest 5K through the hauntingly beautiful streets of historic downtown Eatonton, Georgia.Dress up, show up, and run or walk your way through 3.1 miles of tree-lined streets, historic architecture, and enough Halloween spirit to raise the dead. Along the way, you'll pass legendary haunted locations, and perhaps the ghosts themselves.
After you cross the finish line, the real party begins. Join us at City Center Stage for a free afterparty, including an awards ceremony, local vendors, and our legendary Costume Contest, where the most creative, scariest, and downright funniest costumes take home bragging rights and prizes.

FUN RUN START: 8:30 AM
RECOMMENDED FUN RUN DISTANCE: The run is approximately 0.75 mile.
RECOMMENDED FUN RUN AGES: Kids ages 3-10.

*Can’t make Packet Pick-Up on Friday? You may pick up your packet on Race Day. Please plan to arrive early for race day.
AGE GROUP & OVERALL AWARDS:
The top three male & female overall and top three finishers in each age group will receive a customized medal. Age groups are as follows: 10 and under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75+. Race Director has the right to combine age groups.
AWARDS CEREMONY:
We will have the awards ceremony at the pavillion next to the finish line. Awards ceremony will start at 9:15 AM.
The top three male & female finishers in each age group will receive an age group medal.
The 5K event is an officially timed event using the disposable RFID timing system. Timing chips are attached directly to the back of your bib number and are to remain adhered for the duration of the event. In order to receive an accurate time, please confirm your bib is:
- Clearly visible on the front of the torso/thigh
- Unaltered and unmodified (Do not fold or wrinkle)
- Pinned in all four corners
- Not covered (jackets, runner belts, water bottles, etc.)
There will be timing clocks at the start and finish lines. Results will be posted on-site and will be live.
The Run in Putnam has many upfront costs. We have a strict and uniform policy of no refunds or no deferrals to a future year. We do understand that plans change, injuries happen, and various situations arise, but, we feel it is most fair to apply a uniform policy to all, instead of a subjective line of who should receive a refund and who doesn’t. All purchases and sales are 100% final, no exceptions. Refunds will not be issued based on weather conditions or pandemics. We appreciate your understanding in this matter
