Description

Run on locations where the Walking Dead was filmed.

This event is also intended as a Darkside Running Club reunion.

Join us on as we revive the tradition of running around locations where the Walking Dead was originally started. Additionally, come rekindle friendships made via the Darkside club. Let’s continue our tradition of “No Excuses, No Whining, above all Have Fun!!” by also encouraging any past Darksiders to participate. Come run, walk, or both, as little or as much as you would like.

The Pavilion is located across the street from the Haralson Baptist Church (as a point of reference should you see the church first).

There are two restrooms (men and women), electrical outlets, overhead lights, and grills. Rules for Participants

(These will be reviewed before the race begins. Should you start at any time other than 7:30 Saturday morning you will need to see Adamy if you have any questions.)
  • The race course consists of a 2.6mile loop. It will be well marked on the road and with signs. All runners are encouraged to wear a chronograph. Please understand every device is different, therefore you may record a longer or shorter distance.
  • You will be given a bib number. Please make sure it is visible at all times you are on the course for the benefit of the lap counter.
  • Have a verbal exchange with your lap counter as you finish each lap.
  • Use a headlamp or flashlight and wear at least one piece of reflective clothing at night. There won't be a lot of traffic, but there will be some.
  • All turns will be marked with spray chalk. The entire course will be asphalt (most of it new, soft black asphalt). The course can best be described as 'gently rolling.'
  • Everyone has a specific goal or target in mind, which is the beauty of this event. The volunteers will do whatever they can to help you achieve them.
  • Pacers are welcome. As a courtesy all pacers should check in with the volunteers to let them know when they'll be on the course.
  • The course is NOT closed to traffic. Everyone should exercise the utmost precaution at all times. Again, there won't be a lot of traffic, but there will be some. Everyone is encouraged to run each lap on the 'tangent' side of the road (i.e. when you run the course counterclockwise you will be facing oncoming traffic).
  • If you leave the pavilion for any reason (including dropping out of the event) other than running your next lap, please let the race director or volunteers know.
  • Alcoholic beverages are prohibited (as we are in a public park).
  • Please use the trash bags provided and don't leave any litter on the course. Be sure to take all of your possessions and gear once you are finished.
  • Please note that the Race Director nor the volunteers have any control over wildlife or the weather. Or zombies.
