Root for Love 5K

About This Activity: Join us for the 2nd Annual Root for Love 5K. When you register for this race you are helping Because of Kennedy (www.becauseofkennedy.org) care for orphans and empower the vulnerable in Ethiopia. This beautiful flat and fast course is USATF certified. This course is perfect for all fitness levels. 

Event Details and Schedule: This run/walk event will be held on April 13, 2019 on the Silver Comet Trail - Hiram Trailhead (401 Seaboard Ave, Hiram, GA 30141).  The run/walk will start at 8:00 am and will be held rain or shine.  The silver Comet Trail - Hiram Trailhead is adjacent to Homer Leggett Memorial Park and Hiram Hounds Dog Park; there are nice restrooms, water fountains, covered picnic tables, a playground and the original caboose. Medals will be given to the top 3 Male & Females, top overall master male and female winners (age 40+), and age category awards will be given to the top three male and female finishers in the following age categories: 10 & under, 11-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70+.Plan on bringing your family, friends, dogs and have a great time!!! We will have Free face painting from Chelle Face Painting, Kona Ice will be there with a Shaved Ice Truck (so bring some cash), there is a playground and there will be fun activities for the family. The silver comet will not be closed for this event so please remember to watch for other trail runners and bikers. Free race t-shirts guaranteed in your size when you register by March 29th!

Registration: We will have race day registration starting at 7:00 am. Packet pick up will be Friday April 12, 2019 from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Sanctuary 400 Mars Hill Road, Kennesaw, GA 30152. Parking: There is plenty of free parking at or near the trailhead. Restrooms are available at the Homer Leggett Park adjacent to the trailhead. (401 Seaboard Ave, Hiram, GA 30141).
