Celebrate the 250th birthday of our great country with the
annual Scarecrow Scrambler on October 31, 2026.
Event Description
The race begins and ends at the Jefferson Civic Center, 65 Kissame Street, steps away from beautiful downtown Jefferson.
This year’s theme is a tribute to our great nation. Come dressed in your most patriotic costume or running gear. Costumes encouraged but not required. Prizes given for the best costumes and best themed costume. Medals will be awarded to age group winners.
The race, hosted by Jefferson Kiwanis Club and Unity Masonic Lodge, is a fundraiser for local community projects such as the Kiwanis Literacy Launch and Masonic Children’s Home.

The 5K course starts and finishes at the Jefferson Civic Center and runs through adjacent neighborhoods.

Awards
Awards are given to Overall Male / Female, Masters Male/Female and the following
5-year age groups 1st, 2nd and 3rd place: 10 and Under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75 and Over.
Awards will be given for the best costumes! Patriotic costumes or running gear are encouraged!

We get wet! Race start time may be delayed in 15-minute increments if storms are in the area. Sorry, no refunds due to inclement weather.
