Love is a Verb 5K

WHAT

The Love is a Verb 5k is in its 1st year and was started as the first fundraiser for 8th Day Clean. 

EVENT DETAILS 

ON-SITE RUNNER: The 5K will be on Saturday, August 24th and begin and end at Riverstone Church Parking Lot (2005 Stilesboro Rd, Kennesaw, GA 30152). The race begins at 8:00 am.

COURSE 

The course is an up and down loop course through Barrett Greene neighborhood adjacent to Riverstone Church.

AWARDS

Awards are offered for all on-site participants. Awards will be given the for top 3 finishers of each age category for Male & Female. We will also award the top overall Male & Female winners of the race. 

The age categories are 10 & under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69 and 70 and over. 

T-SHIRTS

T-shirts are guaranteed to all registrations received prior to 11:59 pm on Friday 8/9.

ON-SITE PARKING

There will be plenty of parking at Riverstone Church (2005 Stilesboro Rd, Kennesaw, GA 30152).  

WEATHER

The race will happen rain or shine. Be prepared to run in any weather. Only in the cases of extreme weather will changes to the race schedule occur. Please check your email on race morning for real-time updates on the status of the race if there is severe weather.

REGISTRATION

Online registration closes at 11:59 pm on 8/23. You will also have the opportunity to sign up race morning 7:00-7:40 am at Riverstone Church (weather permitting).

Race day registration will be available via QR code - charge only.  $43 for adults and $30 for students.

Please note, all virtual runners who register AFTER 11:59 pm on Wednesday, 7/24 WILL NOT receive their shirt in time for race day. 

REFUNDS

No refunds or transfers from person-to-person or year-to-year are allowed. While we understand schedules change and things come up, we have a strict no-refund and transfer policy. Race Management reserves the right to cancel or modify the event due to extreme conditions such as weather. Registration fees are not refundable in the event of the race cancellation due to “Acts of God" or things outside of the control of the Race Director.  

PACKET PICK-UP

Onsite at Riverstone Church (2005 Stilesboro Rd, Kennesaw, GA 30152) 7:00-7:40 am race day morning (8/9)

TIMING

Live Results will be accessible via QR code found on your race bib when you cross the finish line.  The race will be timed by Elite Race Timing. Each participant will receive a race bib with a timing chip attached to the bib. Results will be provided at the finish line and will be posted to Elite’s website immediately following the race at www.eliteracetiming.com.

WATER STATIONS

There will be one water station on the course. Runners are encouraged to bring water bottles with them. Additional water and post-race snacks will be available at the finish line.

DOGS/STROLLERS

No Dogs allowed. Strollers are allowed on the course and at the Start/Finish line. 

FIRST AID

In case of an emergency, please immediately notify one of the on-site medical volunteers or a police officer.

RESTROOMS

Restrooms are available at Riverstone Church
