History has run its course, now it’s your turn.

On June 13th, experience 2020's most spine-chilling 5K through the grounds of Historic Riverside Cemetery, located in the heart of downtown Macon. The Last Gasp 5K is a night time (3.1 mile) bare bones race for serious runners through an awe-inspiring route that highlights the Ocmulgee River and Riverside Cemetery & Conservancy’s 125-acre, meticulously landscaped property that is historically significant and beautifully maintained all season. Run or walk within Riverside’s 133 year old sprawling Victorian-era cemetery, on a paved course through the cemetery that offers some great views of Macon.

Historic Riverside Cemetery & Conservancy's Last Gasp 5K is a family friendly event and a perfect way to support your community while having fun. Historic Riverside Cemetery & Conservancy aims to include runners, walkers, spectators and the general public in the importance of its preservation with all race proceeds going to the restoration and preservation of Historic Riverside Cemetery. The Last Gasp 5K features race timing while runners, joggers, and walkers of all levels are welcome. Leashed dogs and strollers are also welcome.

$30 Entry fee. Online registration starts March 13th, 2020 and will be open through Friday, June 5th or register in person during packet pick up. Mailed entries must be received by Monday, June 8th. Cost includes a complimentary T-shirt. Race day registration will be available if space allows. Walkups are welcome, but T-shirt sizes cannot be guaranteed. Please note that there are limited spots available for this race, so register early to ensure a spot! Day-of registration for adults is $35 if space remains.

Every runner, every donor, every sponsor, and every volunteer is very directly helping to support one of Central Georgia’s most beautiful and unique spaces. Historic Riverside Cemetery is a National Historic Monument, full of history, culture, art, architecture, horticulture. Proceeds benefit the mission of supporting preservation, conservation and enhancement of the cemetery’s landscape, buildings, monuments and future for all to enjoy.
