Description
Project 82 Kenya is pleased to announce the second annual 5k run/walk and kids Safari 1 miler. All race proceeds will benefit our children’s education and healthcare programs in Kenya.
The course is a USATF certified course (#GA12047WC) and a Peachtree Road Race qualifier! This is a flat and fast course that will be chip timed. Come prepared for your best race! Each entrant will receive a very comfortable tri-blend gender specific race shirt, and all finishers will receive a free Chick-fil-a chicken sandwich coupon. Additionally, top AG winners will receive medals attached to beautiful beaded necklaces made in Kenya and brought back specifically for this race. ***Shirt sizes are not guaranteed if registered after 4/30/2019.
Packet pickup will be Friday May 3 from 11am-1pm at Big Peach 1062 Johnson Ferry Road, Ste. C, Marietta, GA 30068, Friday May 3rd from 3-5pm at Mt. Bethel Christian Academy, and race morning at Mt. Bethel UMC from 6-7:15 am.
5K AWARDS – presented to the Overall Male & Female, Overall Male & Female Master and the top 3 finishers (male & female) in 15 age groups (from 10 & under to 75 & over)
1 mile kids Safari 1 Miler – t-shirt and finishers prize for 12 & under.
Fundraising
Help us reach our goal of raising $5,000 through online donations. We are asking every participant to create their own personal fundraising page with your personal goal amount, then ask your friends, family, co-workers, neighbors, etc to support you.
As an incentive for fundraising, we would like to give any participant who raises $100 a lovely, one of a kind, scarf handmade in Kenya. Additionally any participant who raises $200 or more will receive a beautiful soap stone family statue made in Kenya. We will allow the choice of the scarf based upon the order in which you reach the goal. They are all beautiful but if you have a favorite then start asking for support ASAP!
