Race Description
In 2021, Maxeys Model Mile was the first official 5K to be held along the Firefly Trail. We are excited to present the 8th Annual Maxeys Model Mile 5K in 2025. The race will start and finish along the Firefly Trail. Registration takes place along the Firefly Trail near the corner of Hwy 77 and Laurel Street.
Registration Fees
In Person: $20 No Shirt; $25 with a shirt, register by March 28, 2026
Virtual: $20 No Shirt; $30 with a shirt, includes postage, register by March 28, 2026. Virtual runners are not eligible for race day awards.
Phantom: No participation, optional shirt only. $20 No Shirt; $25 with a shirt, will pickup on race day; $30 with a shirt, includes postage, register by March 28, 2026

Course
The Maxeys Model Mile 5K is now a USATF Certified Course. (GA24006DJ) and is a Peachtree Qualifying event. The 5K starts on Laurel Lane, adjacent to the Firefly Trail and runs through the lovely countryside of the Maxeys community. The race runs the last mile on the Maxeys Model Mile to the finish line.
Awards
Awards are given to Overall Male / Female, Masters Male/Female, GrandMasters Male/Female and the following Male / Female Age Groups:
5-year age groups: 10 and Under, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70-74, 75-79, 80 and Over
Virtual Option
Run your 3.1 miles anywhere between May 1 and May 16. Submit your finish time by clicking on the RESULTS tab at the top of this page or using this link: https://runsignup.com/maxeysmodelmile5k/results . Submit finish times no later than 12 noon on May 16. To submit a virtual time you must be registered as a virtual runner.
Virtual runners are not eligible for race day awards or t-shirts.
Race Series and Finishline Management
The Maxeys Model Mile 5K is proud to be a member of the Black Bag Race Series and Clover Glove Race Series and the Firefly Trail Race Series.

What if it Rains?
We get wet! Race start time may be delayed in 15-minute increments if storms are in the area. Sorry, no refunds due to inclement weather.
