If you have been to any of the previous 5 runs, we hope you will join us again this year, even if you are not running. We began this race with the goal of creating a memorial to our Walton County Heroes - our Fallen Military and First Responders. This goal was reached November of 2018 at the dedication of the Walton County Veterans Memorial. While raising funds for the project, we were able to provide an opportunity for the civilian community and the Walton County AFJROTC to meet both veterans and active military and first responders alike, as well as awarding college scholarships.
If you were not able to make it to the Dedication Ceremony of the Memorial in November of 2018, be prepared to be awed! Last year was awesome with spectators setting up chairs to cheer on their favorite runners as they ran by the sandlot. This year we will juice up the runners with inspiration by a short dedication of the Fallen Heroes Memorial during the Opening Ceremony. This year's finish should will trump that of last year as runners finish their race inspired by the entrance of the recently finished Walton County Veterans Memorial. A great motivation to see what the efforts and donations of previous years have wrought! You surely do not want to miss this race this year!
