Foundation 5K

Please make plans to join us for our First annual “Foundation 5K” to be held Saturday morning, July 27th at 8:00 AM as we run, jog, and walk our way back into the 2024-2025 school year! Racers will enjoy the gently rolling hills on the Silver Comet Trail located in Rockmart, GA, running alongside Euharlee Creek and enjoying the canopy of shade along various parts of the trail. This is a family-friendly, casual event where runners and walkers of all ages and abilities are encouraged! Participants will receive a short-sleeve T-shirt, and all children (14 and under) who complete the race will receive a “Back2School Bundle” of assorted school supplies to use the upcoming year. Race proceeds go to benefit security improvements and facilities upgrades for the school. Date: Saturday, July 27, 2024 at 8:00 am

Location: The race will begin and end at the Nathan Dean Sports Complex entrance of the Silver Comet Trail, located on the corner of Highway 278 and Industrial Road in Rockmart, GA. The Nathan Dean Complex is on mile marker 38.77 of the Silver Comet Trail. Start/Finish is at the same location. Runners will head east, passing through downtown Rockmart, circle and then return to finish at the Nathan Dean Sports Complex. 

Registration:  Registration opens online at a reduced rate of $30 until June 30. From July 1-21 registration is $35. Late registration is also available the day of the race, beginning at 7am on July 27 for $40 at the Nathan Dean Sports Complex. Race will begin at 8 am on July 27.

Packet and T-Shirt Pick-up:  Early packet pick-up will be located at Foundation Christian School, located at 160 Springdale Road Rockmart, GA 30153, on Friday, July 26 from 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM.  Race Day packet pick-up is available on July 27 at the finish line between 7:00 AM - 7:45 AM . T-shirts and Back2School Bundles are not guaranteed for late registrants.

Awards:  Awards will begin approximately at 9:30 am and will be given for the Overall 1st, 2nd, and 3rd Male & Female as well as the top overall Masters Male & Female.   Additionally, the Overall Male & Overall Female will be awarded a $100 cash prize (regardless of age.) Each child (14 and under) who finishes the race will receive a “Back2School Bundle” with school supplies for the upcoming year.

Age Groups Awards:  Age groups include the following: 10&U, 11-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70+.

Weather:  The Foundation 5K race will go on, rain or shine! In the event of hazardous conditions, Race Management has the right to change, eliminate parts of the course, or delay the race. However, if it is deemed too dangerous to race, the event will be canceled and no refunds will be given.
