Description
Join us for the Inaugural Rock the Comet Marathon and Half Marathon on Saturday, February 25, 2017 in Rockmart, Georgia. The course runs entirely on the picturesque Silver Comet Trail, a converted rail line that stretches over 60 miles from Smyrna, Georgia to the Georgia/Alabama state line. The course will start in charming Rockmart, Georgia and run along the Rockmart River Walk where it continues on the Silver Comet Trail through forests and fields. The course is an out and back for the half marathon, while the marathoners do a double out-and-back. All registered participants will receive a unique t-shirt. Finishers will also receive a finisher's medal.
Start/Finish Location: Nathan Dean Park, Rockmart, Georgia
Parking: Available at the Start/Finish.
Start Time: 8:00AM
Packet Pickup: Friday, February 24, 2017 (time and location TBD) as well as race morning from 6:30 - 7:45AM.
Both the marathon and half marathon are in the process of being USATF certified.
