Sandy Springs Education Force (SSEF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to educating and enriching the lives of public school students in Sandy Springs in coordination with school administrators. STEAM (science, technology, engineering, arts and math), literacy, after-school, tutoring and mentoring programs address critical needs. Financially vulnerable students thrive from these programs during the school year and summer.
Race Course - 5K & 10K
The 10K loops the 5K race course twice. The course begins and ends at 6100 Lake Forrest Drive, Sandy Springs, GA 30328.
Parking Options
There are four areas available to park.
We suggest coming from Lake Forrest since Mt. Vernon will begin to be shut down at Lake Forrest Drive as the race start approaches. A small section of Lake Forrest will be shut down between the 6100 Century East Building Entrance and Mt. Vernon.
(1) Main Parking: Century Springs West business parking lot at 6100 Lake Forrest Dr. (Watch for marked spots for building customers. Please do not park in customer spots.)
(2) Along Mt. Vernon Rd. there are limited spaces across from Sandy Springs United Methodist Church available with a short walk down to the Start/Finish line at Lake Forrest.
(3) Street and surface lot parking is available surrounding City Springs. Expect a longer walk to the Start/Finish line at Lake Forrest.
(4) City Springs Deck East or West. Parking is free for up to 2 hours. This is a great spot to park if you wish to head back to City Springs for the Farmers Market. Expect a longer walk to the Start/Finish line at Lake Forrest.
*All other areas are not designated for parking and you park at your own risk.
*There will be specific spots at the Century Wast lot reserved and marked for the building's customers.
*Feel free to review the PDF below for a map of the area and parking locations.

Sponsor the Lightning 5K/10K - We Need Your Support!
Sponsors play an essential role in supporting students in public schools in Sandy Springs!
Sandy Springs Education Force (SSEF) is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit that delivers targeted programs designed to close learning gaps and expand opportunity for thousands of local students. Through free school supplies from the Teachers’ Supply Closet, take-home books via our Mini-Libraries program and career-focused inspiration through Link with a Leader talks, SSEF connects learning to life. Our individualized support programs, such as Reading Buddies, Summer Book Club and Tutor Teams, help boost students' confidence and improve academic outcomes in reading and math. For high school seniors, SAIL and Senior Push offer one-on-one mentoring and guidance, particularly for those who are the first in their families to pursue post-secondary education. In addition, our After-School All-Stars enrichment program provides middle school students with extended learning, academic assistance and engaging activities in a safe, supportive environment.
Research shows that these personal, consistent connections between students and teachers, tutors and mentors are critical components for academic success and make a lasting impact. Your sponsorship helps sustain 18 educational programs that meet real needs and give students the tools to stay on track, plan for the future and thrive!
