Description
The Run Above the Clouds offers 10K and 5K road races over a beautifully scenic, challenging out-and-back course through the North Georgia mountains. At 2800 feet, The Run Above the Clouds is Georgia’s highest (and perhaps most scenic) 10K, featuring “the Cooper Gap Climb,” a 230-foot elevation change over a one-mile stretch. The Run Above the Clouds is a benefit for the students of Woody Gap School, the smallest and only K-12 public school in Georgia. Every year The Run Above the Clouds awards scholarships to graduating seniors and to postgraduates of Woody Gap School to encourage them to continue their education. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Your race entry includes a tri-blend t-shirt as long as you are registered by April 9.

Shirt Info
We are giddy with this year's shirt design! Local folk artist, Ande Cook, created this design just for us and we are diggin' it! The image is printed on Hanes Perfect-T crewneck and is 60/40 blend which is our favorite when it comes to looking good and feeling good, even on those humid days!
All 10k and 5k participants are guaranteed a shirt as long as you are registered by April 9th. So don't delay.
10k Race Course
Our start/finish for both the 10k and 5k is in the parking lot across from the Suches Community Center on Hwy. 60 in Suches, Georgia (15 miles north of Dahlonega in the beautiful Suches Valley). The course goes by Woody Lake on Highway 60, then turns onto Cooper Gap Road. The turnaround for the 10K is in the small community of Mt. Airy. Turnarounds will be clearly marked. There will be one water station set up at the 5k turnaround point.

North Georgia Life Podcast - #59: Run Above The Clouds... scenic views with a refreshing cause & community!
Seems like we hear the phrase "the way things used to be" a lot these days, as so many facets of life are not. This scenic fundraiser (for a variety of activity levels and interests) will give you a taste of the true beauty that is 'North Georgia', both in the scenery and the community that puts it together. When a community comes together for the next generation, it's special. When the surroundings are scenic upon scenic, it's something else. Have a listen & join us this year at The Run Above The Clouds.
