9:00AM Chrrahee Challenge 10K (finish line will remain open until 11:30am)
Both the 5K and 10K are very strenuous courses. The start and finish line for both races is on Ayersville Road near the Currahee Memorial. The 5K runs approximately halfway up Currahee Mountain to the water stop and turns around. The 10K last half mile is especially steep. The turnaround for the 10K is at the historic elevation marker as seen on the right. This marker will be sitting on a table near the top of the mountain.
It is recommended that all 10K runners can complete the run in a 2-hour time frame. It is also recommended that all walkers register for the 5K event.
Medals presented for both the 5K and 10K to overall male/female, masters male/female and top three in 10-year age groups, 1st, 2nd and 3rd, starting at 10 & under through 80 & over.
The Currahee Challenge 5K/10K is proud to be a member of the Black Bag Race Series.
