What is Camp Cocoon? Camp Cocoon is a camp for children and adolescents, ages 6-17, who have experienced the death of a loved one. Campers have the opportunity to meet peers who are going through similar loss situations. While having fun in a safe and caring environment, campers begin to feel comfortable sharing their stories and learning from their peers who understand what it’s like to experience bereavement. Camp Cocoon has been available to children for 11 years now. The camp is located in Toccoa, Georgia. Because of the location, so many of our local south Georgian children can not attend. We began a local addition here in Valdosta 2013! It will begin as a one day camp, and hopefully continue to expand and grow each year.
