Description

The First Annual "Dash For Dr. George" 5K and 1-Mile Fun Run is scheduled on Saturday, April 18, 2015 at Clinton Nature Preserve in Villa Rica, GA.  This event is in honor of Dr. George Harkins of Douglasville, GA and Gene Barnes of Marietta, GA.  Both men were victims of Esophageal Cancer, currently the fastest growing cancer in the US.  It is also the 7th deadliest cancer in the world.  Early detection of this disease is very important.  "Dash For Dr. George" is a fundraiser for the Esophageal Cancer Education Foundation (ECEF).  With your help, we hope to raise funds to help ECEF accomplish thier mission.  The Esophageal Cancer Education Foundation's goals are to bring awareness and educate the public about this terrible disease, to help patients who have this disease, and to financially support research projects that focus on EC.  April is Esophageal Cancer Awareness Month.
