19th Annual Bird Dog Breakaway
Welcome to the 19th Annual Bird Dog Breakaway! We’re thrilled to have you here to “Run the Race” with us. This year’s event features a 5K run, a 2-mile walk, and several children’s runs—including an Adaptive Run/Walk for our amazing CFNB kids. The Kid Zone is back, making it a fun-filled morning for participants of all ages!
All proceeds from the Bird Dog Breakaway support the Center for New Beginnings, a non-profit organization that offers ABA therapy to individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorder and other developmental disabilities in the Waynesboro, Evans and Millen communities. This year, we're aiming to raise $20,000!

Free parking is available nearby at the Wimberly House and the lot behind KJ's.

On race day, we can accept cash, checks, cards (chip and tap pay), and Paypal
The closest ATMs are located at the following:
- Walgreens (400 S Liberty St)
- First National Bank (308 S Liberty St & 626 N Liberty St).
There are no ATMs on site in Waynesboro City Park.
Cross Country/Corporate Teams (groups of 10 or more): $25 per person
