Q: What is the 5K Color Run for the Brave for?
The 5K Color Run for the Brave is being organized by Great Wolf Lodge Perryville to benefit CHEP, which is a nonprofit in Cecil County Maryland that is dedicated to supporting and empowering homeless and at-risk veterans. They provide temporary housing and essential resources to help veterans move toward stability and self-sufficiency. The event includes a timed 5K run and a family-friendly walk on a USATF Certified Course, along with various activities for children and families. All proceeds from the run will go to CHEP.
Q: Where is the event taking place?
The event is scheduled for Saturday, November 1, 2025, from 9:00 AM to 12 Noon at the Perryville Community Park. The address is 100 Marian Tapp Parkway, Perryville, MD 21903.
Q: What is the event schedule?
- 8:00 AM – 9:00 AM Day of Packet Pick Up
- 9:00 AM 5K + Family Fun Walk begins
- 9:30 AM- Noon Community Village
Q: Where is Packet Pickup prior to the event?
Packet pickup for the 5K Color Run for the Brave will take place at the Great Wolf Lodge Conference Center on the following dates:
- Thursday, October 30th 4:00 PM- 6:00 PM
- Friday, October 31st 12:00 Noon until 2:00 PM, and again from 4:00 PM until 6:30 PM
After picking up your packet, you and your children are welcome to explore our Halloween Treat Trail, which winds from the Lobby through the Adventure Park. The trail is open 4:30–6:30 PM both days—costumes are encouraged!
Q: Will there be a Swag Bag?
Yes, those picking up their Registration packets prior to the event at Great Wolf Lodge, will also get a ‘Goodie Bag”
Additionally, we have a Raffle drawing for 4 complimentary passes to Plumpton Park for those participating in early pickup.
Q: What will be in the Swag Bag?
Great Wolf Lodge Clear Bag and Beach Ball, Coupon for Wood’s End Creamery, along with other fun items.
Q: Where is Packet Pickup Nov 1, day of the event?
Packet pickup will be at Perryville Community park, starting at 8am until 8:59am near the starting line at the Bateman Pavilion.
Q: Is there parking at the event?
Free parking is available on-site. Please refrain from parking on the grass.
Q: Who can participate in the event?
The event is open to individuals of all ages. Participants can join in person or virtually from any location. The course is wheelchair accessible.
Q: What activities are available for children?
The Community Village, will offer a blow-up obstacle course, temporary tattoos, face painting, visits from our Great Wolf Lodge characters Wiley and Violet!
Q: What vendors will be part of the Community Village?
Harford County Sheriff Department is offering Kid Fingerprinting, and the HOPE House (Drug Awareness simulator), Boys and Girls Club of Cecil & Harford County, Sonetta Community Market, WAWA, plus more as well as, many local vendors.
Q: Who can enjoy the Community Village?
All are welcome!
Q: Will food be available?
Yes, there will be food trucks, available before the race until 12pm. Donut NV (see menu below) will offer coffee & desserts and Old Line Grill will offer a selection of breakfast & switch to lunch items. There will also be some complimentary items within the Community Village

Registration can be completed online through the event website. Participants can choose between the in-person 5K, in-person walk, or virtual options

Q: What are the registration fees?
The registration fee is $33.75, which includes a $3.74 processing fee for the 5K. The 1 mile Fun Run/Walk is $28.45 which includes $3.45 fee. Virtual Run is $33.74, which includes $3.74 fee.
Q: What is included with my registration?
Registration includes participation in the chosen event (5K run or family fun walk), a free t-shirt, and access to all event activities.
Q: Can I participate virtually?
Yes, virtual participation is available. You can join the event from any location by selecting the virtual 5K option during registration. Virtual Run is $33.74, which includes $3.74 fee.

Q: How many water stations will there be?
1 on the course but you can access on the way out of the park and again on the way back in towards the finish line!
At the finish line, there will be bottled water, sports drinks, Herr’s potato chips and bananas while supplies last.
