Get ready for an exhilarating swim leg with our unique time-trial beach start. With water temperatures expected between 65 and 75 degrees, it's bound to be an invigorating start to your race day.
As you head out to the first buoy, make a left turn and keep the buoys on your right around the course.
Olympic distance athletes may complete 1 or 2 loops.
Sprint athletes will turn at their designated buoy.
Super sprint athletes will head out to the 100m buoy, turn around, and return.
Athletes will line up in the chute based on distance, with strong swimmers at the front. Starting with the Olympic distance, athletes will enter the water two at a time, with subsequent starts following at intervals based on event size. The Sprint distance will commence approximately 25 minutes after the Olympic, and Super Sprint 20 minutes after the Sprint athletes.
Upon completing the swim, all athletes will exit the finish chute on the beach and follow the swim chute up to transition at the parking lot.
Safety is paramount, and lifeguards will be stationed on ocean rescue boards and wave runners throughout the course. Athletes may hang on to a board or waverunner for support as needed but must remain stationary. If you choose to be extracted from the water, your race will conclude at that point. However, if medical clearance is given, you may opt to continue the bike and run segments after turning in your timing chip/strap.

WETSUIT RENTAL
For those in need of a wetsuit, rentals are available for $50, including full, sleeveless, or shorty options.
To ensure your wetsuit is pulled at the warehouse and brought to the event. Please make your reservation on or before the Tuesday before the event. This can be done at our online store at the above link. Your reservation is held with a $10 non-refundable deposit which does apply to the total cost of your wetsuit rental. The remainder is paid upon pickup of your wetsuit at the event. ($40 cash ONLY)
