Race Day Tips

What to Wear/Bring

  • Girls on the Run participants should wear the orange program t-shirt. 
  • This event will happen rain, snow, or shine - be sure to dress in appropriate layers.
  • Everyone is encouraged to bring their own water as finish-line refreshments will only be provided to registered participants.
  • Pack lightly as there will be no gear check available and we cannot allow any items to be left unattended in the meet and greet.
  • PLEASE NOTE: There is no water available for spectators. Please bring your own!

When and Where to Meet Your Team

You will want to arrive with enough time to meet up with your team, stretch, and get organized. Find your team (site name) sign in the Meet and Greet area, located in Lot D. You will meet your coaches and teammates here. This area is also where you should plan to meet after the race if you will not be participating in the 5K. Teams are broken out into color pods and are listed alphabetically by school name in each pod. You can find the full pod map here.

Team Color Pods and Arrival Times

  • Orange Pod (SkyView Elementary) - Participants arrive at 9:00 AM
  • Schools A - D: PINK POD - Participants arrive at 9:00 AM
  • Schools E - I: PURPLE POD - Participants arrive at 9:30 AM
  • Schools J - R: GREEN POD - Participants arrive at 9:30 AM
  • Schools S - Z: BLUE POD - Participants arrive at 9:00 AM

Location and Parking

Location: Empower Field @ Mile High (1701 Bryant St.)

Parking info: Arrive early! Parking is available in Lots C, B, A on the southern side of the stadium and Lot J and L on the northern side of the stadium. From the parking lots, walk west to Lot D. Handicap parking is in Lot G accessible from Mile High Circle on the north side of the stadium.

Parent & Community Participant Bib Pick Up & Registration

Bib Pick Up & Race Day Registration will open at 8:00 AM on race day. Pick Up and Registration is located in the southern end of Lot D. Race day registration is $35 with cash or $38.35 with a card. 

Safety

  • We anticipate over 8,000 people will be in attendance at this event.
  • If you cannot participate in the 5K with your GOTR participant, they will not be alone. Not only will police and volunteers be present throughout the course, but we also have designated volunteers to run with teams.  
  • No one without an official bib will be permitted on the course.
