Meet the Coaches
Makenna Veen
Makenna is a master’s student in Sports Coaching, Leadership, and Administration at Michigan State University.
She is also a member of the MSU cross country and track teams, where she's contributed to several Big Ten team titles.
Running has been a part of her life since elementary school and has played a positive role in shaping who she is today.
Makenna is incredibly excited to be part of the coaching staff for the Growing Roots Running Camp!


Ryan Warriner
Ryan is a staff member at Playmakers leading the Good Form Programming as well as kids programs such as Kids Run Lansing & Meridian Township Kids Run Club
Ryan is a former teacher, and is passionate about providing education and opportunities for the next generation of runners in the Greater Lansing Area.
Beyond Good Form Running training, Ryan is a certified USA Track and Field coach and has worked with young athletes in various capacities for over 10 years
Megan Sanchez
Megan works at Corewell Health Grand Rapids hospitals as an Internal Medicine physician by day. When not at work she is usually running/biking with her dogs on the trail, running with the local run club, or helping with the Waverly High cross country team.
Megan is a member of RunGR, a local run club in Grand Rapids and helps coach the Waverly High cross country team.
She has run the Boston marathon and enjoys Canicross and obstacle course racing with her dog Jazz.
