The Picnic Route
Enjoy some of Ann Arbor's finest parks and frequent training locations for Greenhills Cross Country team. This suggested route is point-to-point and offers a wonderful opportunity to get your steps in and enjoy an outdoor picnic along the way. This route offers safety for everyone, paved paths and pit stops for young ones!
- Park at the "Dixboro Damn" and start your run at the boat livery
- Head East and work your way along the newly paved path in Parker Mill
- As you near the end make sure you continue on the path under Geddes [this is the safest option]
- Parker Mill does offer facilities for those needing a pit stop
- At the top of the hill (Geddes and Dixboro), turn right to continue on the scenic Matthaei Botanical Gardens Trail
- Take this path all the way until you reach the Conservatory
- Choose a trail system to add your final .1K and find a peaceful place to celebrate success!
Doggie Mailbox Route
Help us truly celebrate the new track and field by starting and finishing your 5K GryFun Run & Walk firsthand at the facility. This suggested route is an out and back with easy parking right at Greenhills. Bonus: Fun "snap a selfie" pitstop at your halfway point!
- Start your route at the start/finish line of Greenhills track and head North (yes, this is backwards!)
- Turn left and head up the stairs past the Gryphon Den entrance
- Follow Greenhills Drive North entrance towards Earhart- carefully cross over Earhart and turn right
- After crossing, turn left on Glazier Way
- Take Glazier Way to Green Rd. and turn right
- Continue the fun until you reach the "Doggie Mailbox" [located on your left]
For some added fun, stop and snap a selfie with the mailbox! - Turn around and back to the Green Rd. and Glazier Way intersection. Carefully cross and turn left.
- Take Glazier Way back towards Earhart.
- Turn right onto Earhart.
- Take Earhart to Greenhills Drive South Entrance and work your way back UP to Greenhills School
- Progress past the Gryphon Den, down the stairs and complete your Fun right on the Gryphon/mid-field!
