Show people with epilepsy what they can do: Living with epilepsy and seizures is life-changing. Once diagnosed, people with epilepsy are immediately reminded of what we can’t do, That’s because we automatically lose control when we have a seizure. And, it can completely take away our independence.
Empowering Epilepsy focuses specifically on Patient Education. We want to teach people with epilepsy more about their diagnosis and treatment plan so they learn how to talk to their doctor to get a more accurate diagnosis and treatment plan sooner. We offer free:
- Client Intake to determine where people with epilepsy are in their epilepsy journey
- Patient Eduction Program where we review information about their diagnosis and treatment plan to help them discover what they can do while living with epilepsy.
- Provide free Age Based Virtual Support Groups via Zoom with an hour of Q & A with an epilepsy specialist and an hour of talk time.
- Provide 3 Educational Conferences per year to better educate people with epilepsy and their loved ones about epilepsy and seizures.
- Provide Free Gift Bags to patients in the Epilepsy Monitoring Units of 10 Ohio Epilepsy Centers
- Provide Art Therapy, Functional Fitness and Yoga Classes to help empower the lives of people with epilepsy
- Provide fun, family friendly events throughout the year to bring people with epilepsy together and help them realize they are not alone in their epilepsy journey.
