Benefits of Participating
Who benefits from the HACEMOS DFW Scholarship 5K Run/Walk?
The race benefits the HACEMOS Scholarship Foundation, specifically the Dallas-Fort Worth Chapter's IME Becas / HACEMOS DFW Scholarship Program. All proceeds from this event will go directly toward awarding scholarships to deserving students across the DFW area.

Registrations
When can I register online?
Registration will be available here on Run Signup.
- In-Person 5K Early Registration: Friday, June 20th to Thursday, July 31st ($35)
- In-Person 5K 1st Price Increase: Friday, August 1st to Friday, August 22nd ($37)
- In-Person 5K 2nd Price Increase: Saturday, August 23rd to Saturday, September 13th ($40)
- Virtual 5K Registration: Friday, June 20th to Saturday, September 13th
- $25 without t-shirt and medal
- $40 to include t-shirt and medal order
Can I register the day of the run?
Yes, participants can register at the run for $40 and can pay online or by cash.
When does the online registration close?
Online registration will remain open through 7:30AM Saturday, September 13, 2025.
Do children in strollers need to be registered?
No, there is no fee for children who ride in strollers.
Can I join the race without registering as a participant?
No, for safety, ANYONE on the 5K course is required to be a registered participant.
Can I get a refund?
Entry fees are non-refundable, including the event of inclement weather. Your entry fee will be considered a donation to the HACEMOS Scholarship Foundation if weather prevents the event from being held.
What is a Virtual Racer Registration?
A virtual race registration allows an individual to participate in the run anywhere you live. Support the event and participate on your own schedule. This is a good option for someone who cannot attend the run but wants to support the scholarship program. It's $25 to join as a virtual participant without a t-shirt and medal. For $40 virtual participants add a t-shirt and medal order; however, t-shirts and medals may need to be shipped out after the event depending on the registration date.
Race Packet / T-shirts
What is a Race Packet?
The Race Packet contains the race t-shirt and numbered bib with tracking chip to wear at the 5K run.
Do all entrants receive a t-shirt?
In-Person entrants who register before August 22, 2025 are guaranteed a t-shirt in their preferred size. Virtual entrants will only receive t-shirts if they pay an additional $15 to include it in their registration before the cutoff date. Registrations received after the cutoff date are not guaranteed their requested size, or even a t-shirt at all. All remaining t-shirts are distributed on a first come first serve basis on race morning.
How do entrants get their t-shirts and bibs?
T-shirts and bibs will be included in the Race Packets. Entrants will need to pick up their packet at registration the day of the race, or on a Packet Pickup date prior to the race.
Can I pick up a Race Packet for my friend or family member?
Yes, you can pick up for other participants. Please have their check-in QR code or name ready when you come for pickup.
Race Day & Bibs/Timing Tags
How are run results tracked?
5K entrants will receive a numbered bib with a timing tag attached. Run results are categorized by gender and age and are available on the RaceSignup website. Timing provided is by Bodies Race Company.
What if I lose my bib/timing tag before the race?
Lost bibs can be replaced at the registration table the day of the run.
Do I have to pay for parking?
No, parking is FREE for our event!
Is it okay to walk in the 5K?
Yes, you are free to walk or run in the 5K race.
I have mobility challenges but would still like to participate. Am I allowed to use a mobility aid, such as a wheelchair motorized scooter?
Yes, you are welcome to use a mobility aids to assist you during the event. We encourage everyone to join in and enjoy the experience, regardless of mobility needs.
Can I bring my dog?
No, for our guests and your pets safety the University of Texas at Arlington strongly discourages pets at the event. They are not allowed on the course, with the exception of service dogs.
Are spectators allowed at the event?
Yes, we warmly welcome your friends and family to come support and cheer you on! Please note, only registered participants are permitted to run or walk in the race.
Can participants dress-up at the run?
Participants are encouraged to show their spirit at the run by wearing HACEMOS or UTA colors, holding banners and pennants, wearing bandanas, etc.

What awards are given out at the run?
Awards will be given after the race for overall male/female winners.
