Benefits of Participating
Who benefits from the HACEMOS NTX Scholarship 5K Run/Walk?
The race benefits the HACEMOS Scholarship Foundation, specifically the Dallas-Fort Worth Chapter's IMME Becas / HACEMOS NTX Scholarship Program. All proceeds from this event will go directly toward awarding scholarships to deserving students across the DFW area.

Registrations
When can I register online?
Registration will be available here on Run Signup, with options for both in-person and virtual participation. In-person registration features early bird pricing through the end of July, followed by a first price increase that lasts until mid-August, and a final price increase leading up to race day.
Can I register the day of the run?
Yes, participants can register at the run up until 7:30AM (credit card/contactless payment only).
When does the online registration close?
Online registration will remain open until 7:30AM on race day.
Do children in strollers need to be registered?
No, there is no fee for children who ride in strollers.
Can I join the race without registering as a participant?
No, for safety, ANYONE on the 5K course is required to be a registered participant.
Can I get a refund?
Entry fees are non-refundable, including the event of inclement weather. Your entry fee will be considered a donation to the HACEMOS Scholarship Foundation if weather prevents the event from being held.
Can I transfer my registration to someone else?
Yes, you have the option to transfer your registration via Manage Registration. See Run Signup's support page for instructions on how to transfer your registration.
What is a Virtual Racer Registration?
A virtual race registration allows an individual to participate in the run anywhere you live. Support the event and participate on your own schedule. This is a good option for someone who cannot attend the run but wants to support the scholarship program. It's $25 to join as a virtual participant without a T-shirt and medal. For $40 virtual participants add a T-shirt and medal order up until the T-shirt order deadline. Shirts and medals for virtual participants may need to be shipped out after the race.
Race Packet / T-shirts
What is a Race Packet?
The Race Packet contains the race T-shirt and numbered bib with tracking chip to wear at the 5K run.
Do all entrants receive a T-shirt?
In-person participants who register before the T-shirt deadline and opt to include a shirt for $15 are guaranteed a T-shirt in their selected size. Virtual participants may receive a T-shirt and medal by adding $15 to their registration and completing registration before the T-shirt deadline. After the deadline, shirts cannot be added to new registrations. Any remaining shirts will be available for purchase on race day for $20 each, on a first-come, first-served basis.
How do entrants get their race bibs and T-shirts?
Race bibs are included with every registration. T-shirts are provided only to those who added one to their registration before the T-shirt deadline. Participants can pick up their race packets either on race day during registration or at a designated Packet Pickup event before the race.
Can I pick up a Race Packet for my friend or family member?
Yes, you can pick up for other participants. Please have their check-in QR code or name ready when you come for pickup.
Race Day & Bibs/Timing Tags
How are run results tracked?
5K entrants will receive a numbered bib with a timing tag attached. Run results are categorized by gender and age and are available on the RaceSignup website.
What if I lose my bib/timing tag before the race?
Lost bibs can be replaced at the registration table the day of the run.
Do I have to pay for parking?
No, parking is FREE for our event!
Is it okay to walk in the 5K?
Yes, you are free to walk or run in the 5K race.
I have mobility challenges but would still like to participate. Am I allowed to use a mobility aid, such as a wheelchair motorized scooter?
Yes, you are welcome to use a mobility aids to assist you during the event. We encourage everyone to join in and enjoy the experience, regardless of mobility needs.
Can I bring my dog?
No, for our guests and your pets safety the University of Texas at Arlington strongly discourages pets at the event. They are not allowed on the course, with the exception of service dogs.
Are spectators allowed at the event?
Yes, we warmly welcome your friends and family to come support and cheer you on! Please note, only registered participants are permitted to run or walk in the race.
Can participants dress-up at the run?
Participants are encouraged to show their spirit at the run by wearing HACEMOS or UTA colors, holding banners and pennants, wearing bandanas, etc.

What awards are given out at the run?
Awards will be given after the race for overall male/female winners.
