HDI 5K Run, Walk, Stroll

Race Venue

1. Where will be the race be held?  Near the dog park area in Coldstream Research Park at 1850 Pisacano Drive, Lexington, KY 40511
2. What time does the race start?  The 5K event will start at 9:00 am.
3. What time should I arrive?  Please arrive at least one hour before the race start time.
4. Where will I park?  Parking is available in the parking lots of the large building located at 1648 McGrathiana Pkwy (corner of McGrathiana Pkwy and Pisacano Dr). There will a short walk down Pisacano Drive to the race Start/Finish line area.

 

Race Participation

1. When can I get my race t-shirt and race number?  A pre-race day pickup session will be held at John's Run/Walk Shop at 317 S Ashland Ave Lexington, KY 40502 on Friday, October 11th from 4:00 to 7:00 pm.
2. Can I view a course map?  Yes. Select the "5K Course Map" menu under "Race Info" to view the course map.
3. Is the course totally on the Legacy Trail?  Yes! The course is an out and back design on the asphalt and concrete surfaces of the Legacy Trail in this area.
4. Is the course suitable for strollers?  Yes. Pushing a stroller on this course is possible. Please start in the back of the race pack.
5. Can I walk the race?  Yes! Walkers are welcome.  Please start in the back of the race pack.
6. Can I bring my dog?  Yes! Dogs on a fixed length leash are welcome on the course. No retractable leashes please as they create a trip hazard.  Please start in the back of the race pack.
7. What is the inclement weather policy?  The race will be conducted rain or shine.  If lightning is observed near the start time of the race, the race start time will be delayed by 30 minutes. If no further lightning is observed in that 30 minute period, the race will be started. If lightning continues to be present the race will be cancelled.

 

Race Registration

1. When does online registration close?  Online registration will remain open through race morning.
2. Can I register on race day?  Yes. Please register online before you come to the race or on your mobile device at the race site. NO cash or checks will be accepted on race day.
3. What do I get for my registration fee?  All that register before October 1st will receive a race t-shirt.
4. Is there a benefiting charity?  Yes, race proceeds benefit the mission of the Human Development Institute at the University of Kentucky.
5. Can I get a refund of my registration fee? Sorry, registration fees are for the benefit of those served by HDI and are non-refundable.

 

Race Timing/Awards/Results

1. Will the race be timed?  Yes! The race will be timed by 3 Way Racing.
2. Will awards be presented after the race?  Yes! All finishers will receive a commemorative award.
