Itʻs a Go!!!

We’re pleased to confirm that the Duke’s Ocean Mile Swim has been rescheduled for Saturday, August 22.

Registration is currently open, and the late registration fee has been waived. Online registration will remain open through Thursday, August 20 at midnight. Registration will reopen on race morning at 6:00 a.m. for one hour; however, we strongly encourage participants to register by the August 20 deadline, as race-day registration is not encouraged.

If you are unable to participate on August 22, you may transfer your registration to the 25th Annual Duke Kahanamoku OceanFest – Duke’s Ocean Mile Swim next year. We will track all transferred registrations and provide those participants with a special registration code for next year’s event.

Unable to Race on August 22?

If you are unable to participate in the rescheduled Duke’s Ocean Mile Swim on Saturday, August 22, you may defer your registration to the 25th Annual Duke Kahanamoku OceanFest – Duke’s Ocean Mile Swim in 2027.

To defer your registration:

Sign in to your RunSignup account using the account associated with your Ocean Mile Swim registration.

1. Go to your Profile.
2. Under Upcoming Events, locate the Duke’s Ocean Mile Swim and select Manage Registration.
3. Select Defer Registration. Depending on the page layout, this option may appear at the top of the page or in the menu on the left.
4. Review the deferral information shown on the screen.
5. Select Confirm Deferral to complete your request.

Once completed, you should receive an email from RunSignup confirming that your registration has been deferred.

Your registration will then be recorded as deferred for next year’s event. When registration opens for the 2027 Duke’s Ocean Mile Swim, we will provide additional instructions for completing your registration for the new race year.

Once you have completed the deferral process, please retain your RunSignup confirmation email for your records. The option to defer will expire on August 20th.

If you do not see the Defer Registration option in your RunSignup account, please contact us for assistance rather than registering again.

Participants who are unable to race on August 22 may still pick up their event shirt at Dukeʻs Surf Shop @ Dukeʻs Waikīkī restaurant between 8 am – 10 pm. 2335 Kalakaua Avenue, Waikīkī. The store staff will have a list of registered athletes. If you are planning to swim on the 22nd, please do not go to the Surf Shop; your shirt will be available on the morning of the race. The store staff does not have the staffing to pass out shirts for all of the swimmers.

We are incredibly grateful to everyone who has reached out with support and understanding as we have worked through these schedule changes. Your patience and aloha mean a great deal to us. Please stay safe this weekend.

At this time, all Duke’s OceanFest events scheduled for August 17–24 are still planned to proceed as scheduled.
