Description

Welcome to the First Annual Kukini Keaahala 5K

Welcome to the First Annual Kukini Keaahala 5K, sponsored by Hui Mākua o Pūʻōhala and Ke Kula Kaiapuni ʻo Pūʻōhala. This inaugural race marks a milestone year for Pūʻōhala as we celebrate our first graduating class of seniors under the Castle High School Kaiapuni Academy, while continuing our commitment to student leadership, health, and wellness.

The Kukini Keaahala 5K will be held on Saturday, May 23, 2026, beginning at 7:00 a.m. on the campus of Windward Community College, which also serves as a part-time campus for Pūʻōhala high school students.

All proceeds from the race will support the students at Puohala, including both the kaiapuni and english programs papa M-12. all of which promote student wellness and healthy lifestyles in the Kāneʻohe community.

In the interest of safety for our keiki, a second start time has been added for the Haumāna Haʻahaʻa (Elementary School) and Kamaiki (Pre-School and younger) participants. These two groups will now start at 7:30, by which time the much faster adults and older haumana will have completed their races.
