Race FAQ

ARE DOGS/STROLLERS ALLOWED?

  • Yes! Strollers and family-friendly dogs on leash are welcome in the Fun Walk. Please bring pick-up bags for any messes.

IS THERE A RAIN DATE?

  • No. We hold Turkey Trot rain or shine.

CAN SOMEONE ELSE PICK UP MY BIB?

  • Yes. They will just need your name or registration number.

WHERE DO I PARK?

  • Parking is available in the North Street and Walnut Street city garages. The Spring Street parking lot will be closed between 8:30 - 10:00am. You will not be able to enter or exit during that time. If you would like to leave the race area before 10:00am, please park on a surrounding street, or in one of the city garages. ARE THERE WATER STOPS?

  • Water will be available for FREE to all registered Turkey Trotters at the Luckenbach Mill and at the corner of Main Street and West Lehigh Street.

IS THERE FIRST AID?

  • We will have a First Aid available at the Luckenbach Mill and on the corner of Main Street and West Lehigh Street.

IS THERE AN AGE MINIMUM FOR CHILDREN?

  • We do not have a minimum age for children to participate.

CAN I DRESS IN COSTUME FOR TURKEY TROT?

  • Yes! We encourage everyone to have fun, and we love to see your holiday spirit.

DO I HAVE TO BE REGISTERED FOR A RACE TO ENTER MY DOG IN THE BEST PET COSTUME CONTEST?

  • Yes. Only participants registered for one of the Turkey Trot categories (run/competitive walk/fun walk) may register their dog for the Best Pet Costume Contest. Dogs may only participate in the Fun Walk and not in the competitive categories.

WHEN DOES REGISTRATION CLOSE?

  • Online registration will close at 11:59 on Thursday, November 28. You may register in person at the Bib Pick Up site (Luckenbach Mill, 459 Old York Road, Bethlehem, PA 18018) from 2:30pm - 5:30pm or on race day from 7:30 - 8:30am.

WHICH CATEGORY SHOULD I SIGN UP FOR IF I PLAN TO WALK/RUN THE TURKEY TROT 5K?

  • If you plan to do any running during the 5K you must register for the run, not the walk. This includes interval runners. The competitive walking category is for participants that will be walking only.

WHAT IS COMPETITIVE WALKING?

  • Those registered for the Competitive Walking category will walk the entire 5K course. Walking is defined as keeping one foot on the ground at all times with your front leg remaining straight as your foot lands and comes under you.

CAN I VOLUNTEER TO HELP WITH TURKEY TROT?

  • Absolutely! We have many Volunteer opportunities at the event and it’s a great way to get friends and family involved. Volunteer inquiries can be sent to Beth Beatty at bbeatty@historicbethlehem.org.

I REGISTERED FOR THE RACE AND CAN NO LONGER ATTEND, CAN I GET A REFUND?

  • Registration fees are non-refundable and non-transferrable. Your registration fee helps us in our mission to support, preserve, and share over 275 years of history, 20 historic sites, and 60,000+ artifacts that tell the story of Bethlehem’s heritage.

HOW DO I VIEW THE HOLIDAY DINNER ART EXHIBITION?

  • The exhibition will be open to view on the second floor of the Luckenbach Mill the morning of the race from 8am - 11am.

WHERE CAN I GET MY 10% DISCOUNT FOR CHRISTMAS SHOPPING DURING THE RACE WEEKEND?

  • Your 10% discount is good at all of our museum gift shops, just bring your race shirt or bib for proof of registration.

WHERE DO I GO TO SEE TREES OF HISTORIC BETHLEHEM AND THE HOLIDAY PUTZ DISPLAYS?

  • The Trees of Historic Bethlehem and Holiday Putz Trail displays are just a short walk from the Colonial Industrial Quarter at the following HBMS locations:
    • 1810 Goundie House (next to the Visitor Center) 501 Main Street
    • Kemerer Museum of Decorative Arts 427 North New Street
    • Moravian Museum of Bethlehem 66 West Church Street
