Birdsmouth Beer was chosen for its excellent combination of great beer, ideal event space, and an outstanding location to begin and end the run. Birdsmouth is located in Fort Monmouth, a secluded location with plenty of car parking a great location to stage a run!
Participating in our referral program is easy! You simply need to share your unique referral link with your friends and family and have them register using that specific link.
Here is how you get your link:
- After Registration: Your unique referral link is automatically generated and included in your registration confirmation email.

Reward Structure
You will be automatically credited with a successful referral once your friends register using your unique link. The rewards are cumulative:

Yes, this is a closed course. Although you should always use caustion running on roads, this is a timed race.
Age requirements are based on riding status:
- Running Independently: Participants must be 18 years or older to ride on their own.
- Running with Guardian: Participants who are 12 years or older may ride, but must be accompanied by a parent or legal guardian throughout the entire event.
- Safety Restriction: For safety reasons, anyone under the age of 12 is not permitted to ride, even under the guidance of an adult.
Note for Registrants Ages 12–20:
Since participants between the ages of 12 and 20 will not be served beer, please contact us before registering to receive a discount code for the event entry fee.
Note for Underage Registrants for the Post-Ride Party:
Anyone under the age of 21 will not be served beer. However, all ages are welcome to the post-ride party to cheer on participants as they cross the finish line!
Our dog policy is determined by the specific rules of the host brewery.
To find out if dogs are permitted at this event's location, please email us directly at info@bikesandbeers.com or check the host brewery's website for specific rules on pets.
We will be happy to check the current policy for the host brewery and confirm whether pets are allowed on the property for the post-run festival.
Yes! The post-run festival, held at the host brewery, is a great place to relax, enjoy the atmosphere, and is generally family-friendly.
Bringing Non-Running Guests (Ages 21+)
If you are an adult (21+) and not participating in the ride, you may purchase a "Post-Run Entry" registration to join the festivities. This entry includes all the post-run perks that riders receive:
- Official Hops Trot Pint Glass
- FINISHER MEDAL
- Two (2) Complimentary Craft Beers
- High-Quality Neoprene Beer Koozie
- Raffle Ticket for a chance to win prizes
- Extra sponsor perks + Event-Specific Sticker!
- Access to the live band and entertainment
Bringing Minors (Under Age 21)
Minors who are not receiving the perks listed above may enter the post-ride party at no cost. They will not receive beer redemption tokens.
Important Note on Children:
While we do not permit participants under the age of 12 to run, our host breweries allow minors to attend the post-run party under adult supervision.
Yes. This event will be held rain or shine.
The safety of our runners is our number one priority. Hops Trot reserves the right to adjust the event format or schedule as necessary due to unsafe running conditions caused by inclement weather. Participants will be notified of any potential changes via email. Should the run portion of the event be canceled or postponed, you will still receive all of your guaranteed event items. We encourage all participants to run the course at their convenience and in ideal conditions using the Ride with GPS app.
No, there is no official time limit for completing the run. We want everyone to enjoy the route at their own pace.
Important Note on Post-Run Festivities:
Please be aware of the following deadlines for the post-run party:
- Raffle Deadline: The after-party raffle will be conducted no later than 1:20 PM.
- Beer Redemption: The last call to redeem your beer coupons will be 2:00 PM.
If you arrive back at the brewery later than these cutoff times, neither Hops Trot nor the host brewery is responsible for providing these items or services. We encourage all participants to select an appropriate distance and start time based on their running ability to ensure they are back in time to fully enjoy the post-run festival.
All event check-in is conducted the morning of the run and is a very fast process.
- Arrival Time: Please arrive at the host brewery at least 30 minutes before your individual start time.
- Required Item: You must bring a valid photo ID for check-in.
- Merchandise Pickup: Any included or pre-purchased merchandise (t-shirts, jerseys, etc.) will be available for pickup during the post-run party.
At Hops Trot, we are committed to giving back to the communities that host our events.
A significant portion of the proceeds from every event is donated directly to a local run/walk advocacy group. This contribution goes toward improving road and running conditions in the cities and areas we visit. For specific charity information, please visit our donations page.

Bikes & Beers has a 14 year history of bringing cyclists of all levels together for a fun weekend ride followed by a festival-like atmosphere at the host brewery, featuring games, food, live music, and plenty of craft beer!

However, you may be eligible to transfer your registration to a future event, provided you complete the action before the specific cut-off date detailed on the policies page.

Yes, we accept day-of registrations, provided the event has not sold out.
Important Pricing Note:
If you register on the day of the event, you will be charged the full price. To maximize your savings and capitalize on our early bird deals, you must register online in advance of event day.
Detailed instructions regarding car parking locations and access will be provided to all registered participants in the pre-ride information emails.
These essential emails typically start being sent out approximately two weeks prior to the event day, so please keep an eye on your inbox!
For maximum convenience, the start and finish lines are located in the same place: at the host brewery location for the event.
No, we do not provide a gear check or a dedicated area to leave personal items while you are out on the run.
Important Liability Note:
Hops Trot and the host brewery are not responsible for any loss or damage to your personal property or belongings. Please plan accordingly and keep your items secure with you or stored safely in your vehicle.
Yes! We provide fully stocked rest stops along the course for your convenience, in addition to hydration options available at the pre-race staging area.
Our rest stops are stocked with:
- Hydration: Water and electrolyte drinks (such as Gatorade).
- Fuel: Bananas, oranges, sports bars, and other snacks to fuel you up for the remainder of your ride.
- Facilities: Portable toilets are available at each rest stop.
All runners/walkers will recieve a FINISHER MEDAL as well as other event items included in your registration. Event registration DOES NOT come with a T-Shirt. However, T-Shirts are available for purchase as an add-on item in the registration checkout process.
Yes, but please remain aware of passing runners and do not block with width of the course. Children in strollers do not need to register, but you will need to sign a liability waiver on their behalf (sign on event day).
No, walkers are welcome to participate too. Please remain aware of passing runners while on the course and do not walk in large groups blocking the width of the road.
