What are COVID safety measures, if needed?
At this time we are still planning the race as an in-person event. We were pleased to conduct last year's in-person races in a safe fashion, one of the few in-person events in our region. As of right now, we will not be starting the race in a wave fashion, but are prepared to implement the same starting procedures as we did in 2020.
In 2020 - the roads were marked in 6' distances where participants stood in their corral. Each race had their own holding corrals for people to wait prior to the race. The race started in a wave fashion with 12 runners (all 6' apart) at a time. Every race participant was temperature-checked in the Justice Center parking lot, prior to going to their corral. Participants wore a wristband, showing that they have had their temperatures checked. These were required in order to get in their corral, and receive their medal at the finish line. It worked out very well and our runners felt very safe.
