FAQ
How do I register?
Registration is available online through September 27, 2019, in person at the expo and on race site on the morning of the race, until 6:00 AM.
Will I receive a finisher's medal?
Yes! We are offering custom 3" historical medals for BOTH distances. Check out our Facebook page for details. You'll definitely want one of these!
Will I receive a shirt?
Yes, but don't procrastinate registering! You're only guaranteed a shirt in your size if you register before September 1st.
Is the race timed?
Yes! 3 Way Racing will be providing chip timing. You chip timer will be located on the back of your race bib. Your bib must be worn in the FRONT on the outermost layer of clothing, so that it is visible.
What are the age groups?
9 & under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & over
Is there a virtual option?
Sorry, but no. We want to see your smiling faces in Hopkinsville on race day!
What time does the race start?
Both the half marathon and 5K start at 7:00 AM.
What time do I need to arrive on race morning?
Please try to arrive at least 30 minutes prior to the start of the race. If you are planning on registering at the race, or need to pick up your packet, you will need to arrive at least an hour before registration/packet pickup ends at 6:00 AM.
Where is the start line?
The race will start on Main Street, in front of Ferrell's Hamburgers.
Where can I pickup my packet or register on race morning?
There will be tents located in the Justice Center parking lot at 100 Justice Way.This is a short walk from the start line.
Can someone else pickup my packet for me?
Yes. They will need a copy of your photo ID and race confirmation.
Will the race be canceled if it's raining?
No, the race will go on rain or shine. In the event of lightning, we may delay the start of the race.
Where do I park?
There are several parking lots located downtown.
What charity does the race benefit?
Proceeds from the race and associated events (Friday Expo) benefit the non-profit partners of the United Way of the Pennyrile
How can I help give more money to the charity?
You can make a one time donation to United Way of the Pennyrile at the time of registration. Registrants are encouraged to start their own fundraising page in order to raise additional funds for United Way of the Pennyrile! When you set up your page, you can determine your own personal URL that you can share with family, friends, and co-workers! Plus, there MAY just be some prizes in store when you reach different fundraising levels... Click HERE to start your fundraising page.
Do you need volunteers?
Most definitely! Volunteers play a vital role in our success! You can sign up on our volunteer page HERE.
Is there a Military discount?
All active and retired military will receive 10 percent off registration by using code USA2019 at checkout. Valid military photo IDs will be required when picking up race packets. Thank you to all military for their sacrifice and service!
Is there a First Responder discount?
Yes! First Responder's may receive 10% off of registration by using code 911-2019 at checkout. Only valid for those with a first responder ID. Valid ID MUST be shown at packet pickup in order to receive your packet. Please be advised that if you cannot provide a valid ID at this time, you will be required to pay the balance of your registration fee in order to participate in the race.
What is the Industry Team Challenge?
Up for a little competition? The Industry Team Challenge is open to regional businesses and organized groups (running clubs, nonprofit organizations, squads, etc.). Small Divisions require 5-9 registrants. Large Divisions require 10+ registrants. Enter code ITC2019 at chekcout for 10% off of your registration. Teams MUST have the minimum number of registrants at time of race to qualify.
Can I change my mind and get a refund?
Sorry, but like most races, we cannot offer a refund.
Can I run with my dog?
Sorry, no pets are allowed on the race course.
Can I run with a stroller?
Yes, but please start towards the back of the pack.
Are bicycles, skateboards, or roller blades allowed?
No. The only bicycles allowed on the course are official race volunteers.
Can I walk?
Absolutely! There is a course time limit of 4 hours for the half marathon and 1 hour for the 5K. Walkers must finish under these times. Please start towards the back of the pack.
Can I wear my headphones?
The use of headphones is discouraged.
